  • Need Help with Induction Meals

HI! I have printed off all of the induction menus I can find on this site in order to make up my own because the grocery is sooooo far away it is all about PLANNING, PLANNING, PLANNING! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there can help me come up with a menu that is SIMPLE. I am a very simple southern girl and cook very simple and southern. For an example, the only spices in my house are salt, pepper, season salt and garlic powder. I don't know what most of things are that are mentioned in the menus listed here. I know your basic cuts of meat and stuff like that. Any help would be soooooo helpful!

Thanks and have a nice day!

Re: Need Help with Induction Meals

      Hello,
Here are few that I really like:

*Baked chicken wings with hot sauce. Sometimes I just sprinkle them with old bay minus the hot sauce. You can have celery and blue cheese too.
*Chicken tenders - just some boneless chicken cut up and dipped in eggs and then parmesaen (sp) cheese and then baked.

*I love snacking on steamed shrimp w. cocktail sauce (Heinz One Carb ketchup)

I would suggest checking out this womens website (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html) as it has so many induction friendly recipes w/ PICTURES. I love that.

      Good luck!!

        BEing from the south myself.....

        Veggies:
All the traditional Southern greens are okay for Induction. Now you can cook them like grandma did----slow simmered in water with a ham hock. If you like greens, then cook a extra servings and store in the refrigerator. That way you'll only have to heat them.

You can saute the veggies, cooking them in butter or bacon fat.

        Meats:

Pot roasts are legal, provided you don't use flour and you leave out the potatoes and other non-Induction starchy vegetables.

Meat Loaf can be legal. The bread crumbs and other grain fillers are only there to give the meat loaf moisture and to extend the meat. You can use finely chopped celery, mushrooms or onions that have been cooked to acheive the same thing the bread crumbs do.

Hamburger patties: again, form the burger patties, and cook. Make extra and refrigerate or freeze so you can have quick meal.

Chicken breast: I use my George Foreman grill to grill a bunch of chicken breasts on the weekend. I season them only with salt and pepper. Then I refrigerate and use them for different things during the week: chicken salad, chicken soup, chicken fajitas (use large lettuce leaves in place of tortillas), etc.

All of that is great. I am going to work on a menu and post it. If you all would take a look at it and give me your opinion/advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks again!
