  • I'm a newbie!

Just thought I would take this time to introduce myself. I am a 23 year old mother of two. I have a 4 year old stepson and gave birth to my son 1 year ago. I work full time in an office where I do nothing but sit all day. I started induction on Monday April 9, 2007 after seeing photos of myself from the previous weekends events, my son's birthday party and Easter. I am determined to lose this weight! After 4 days I have already lost 4 pounds. This way of eating is wonderful for me because I am never hungry. Anyway I just thought I would share this with all of you because I am so happy I found something that works and it seems like there is a lot of support in here. I will check back next week! Wish me luck.
Oh yes, and I just bought an elliptical machine that is going to be arriving today. Any thoughts on that?

I am in day 3 of induction myself. Congratulations on your decision to lose the weight. I posted here for the first time yesterday and got a bunch of really nice warm welcomes from everyone. I think these folks will really help us stay on track, so you should check in more often if you can.

Welcome to the board!! Did you take your starting measurements and photos?? They're absolutely vital since you'll never be that size again!!

Thank you so much everyone for all of your support. My goodness I didn't think anyone would reply so fast! Okay. I will check in every day. I haven't taken any measurements no but I could post a before picture that was taken on my son's birthday. How do you post pictures on here?

I go to photobucket.com, which is a hosting site... when you upload a picture, it will give you a link to it with [URL] tags in it... you use that to put it in your signature.

                  Welcome and good for you!

An elliptical machine is good. So is just plain walking. I had the pleasure of babysitting a baby a few weeks ago and realised that pushing him in his stroller around the park was a lot of work! I'm used to just walking me and when I tried walking my usual pace with him---whew! I needed to rest!

Anyhow...I sit at a desk most of the day too. I do resistance training before my morning coffee break. I used to have a set of free weights at the office, but found that resistance bands were easier to transport and store in my desk or in my briefcase. So I do leg resistance training and upper body resistance training during my breaks.

Hi welcome to our ADBB family
It looks as if you are off to a good start

I second the suggestion of measuring yourself now so you have some way of comparison for those times the scales decide to mess you around.

One good website where you can keep them is www.fittogether.net where you can keep adding your changed numbers as you lose and get a good idea of how your body is changing.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
