  • I promise to be honest...

I am nothing, if not honest.

So I am going to tell you about my day.
    It was hard.
    VERY hard.
I have so many cravings. (I mentioned in another thread about medication my dr put me on, so I know where the hunger and craving is coming from).

    That being said.

I took a bite of bread. It had tuna with mayo...but I took a bite.
    I had to.

It's the only cheat I have had in 13 days.
    I swallowed it.

I then proceeded to make me a completely carb free omelette.
    I am now fine.

Everyday, I have been in ketosis, as I test daily (lipostix). I know it's not necessary, but I like seeing the deep pink!!

    So, that is my confession.

I just had to tell you guys.

I have to tell you (whoever is reading) that I would not have made it these 13 days without your information, support and kindness!

    I love

    Thanks all! I feel better!

    I feel great actually.

Because today...I found out that I have lost a total of 11 lbs!!!!!!!

As Sandy said - often it is all the other bites after the first one that does for people's determination to stay on-plan!
you managed not to cave and continued eating to plan so well done
Now here comes the 'tough love' bit:
Try not to do it again, though, as it is not till you HAVE eaten something 'illegal' which does affect you that you know whether you can handle the temptation to continue eating more, and it is a big risk. Next time it may go pearshaped and start you on that slippery slope back into highcarbdom

      you wrote

      I had to.
I have emboldened the important word you need to think about.

Can you work out why you 'had' to eat it?
Was there a way you could have avoided eating it?

We need to rationalise all our choices when changing our way of eating and work out strategies to enable us to say to ourselves instead 'I choose not to eat that'.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I am so glad that you stopped eating and got on here to tell us. I know how you feel about screwing up your cheat-free days. I was 6 weeks CF and I flew to CA and I had some homemade food!!! I was so mad at myself, but I realized that I couldnt change what I just did and I went right back on track! Sounds like you did the same thing! Good Job!

          Christina,

It is great that you feel the need to "confess." At the beginning, it really helped me to feel accountable to the board. I know it sounds weird, but these people whom I have never met in person keep me in line!

However, Elizellen is correct, as well. You need to find out why you felt that you had to. I know that I am an emotional eater and so I have started using other things to help me when I am emotional, such as exercising, singing, and dancing - even coming here to the boards to vent - all of these things keep me from having to eat.

Great job on jumping right back on the wagon!!!

            oh yes!

I just got really mean a little while ago.

DUH, I hadn't eaten almost all day.

            It is 8:45...and I just...didn't eat.

Not hungry. Then, all of a sudden I was starving. I think I growled at my husband.

Egg & cheese omelettes are FAST...I feel normal now.

I know why I "had" to take a bite of the sandwich. Because I was mad. I had to make my husband sandwiches, and damn it, it wasn't fair.

No more sandwich making for ME!!!

            Thanks guys for replying!!!

Re: I promise to be honest...

There is a thread at the top of this forum called 'induction recipe basics' which has a recipe for 'revolution rolls' which would be legal and could allow you to make your own sandwiches!!
