Help! 3 days induction ?

  • Help! 3 days induction ?

    Hello,

    Today is my third day on induction and I am 8 pounds down. However, I am a little nervous because since yesterday I have not been wanting to eat. Ill eat breakfast for example 4 eggs with cheese and 3 pieces of turkey bacon and then I dont want to eat all day. I will eat like a couple of bites of meat and not want to eat anymore. Its not the food it just that Im not hungry. Im drinking my water and trying to get in my veggies, fat, and meat. Should I really worry about going into starvation mode. I feel energetic and I am not tired at all. Please help. I weigh 212 today and was 220 two days ago. Im 5'7''. Female.

    You are most likely in deep ketosis which is a good thing BUT you HAVE to eat. If you don't feed your body it will go into the Starvation mode and thats the LAST thing you want. Try a boled egg and cheese, get in fatty things especially. Don't go 6 hours without eating, I had to force feed myself some too. It will get better but it's the appetite suppression that comes with the ketogenic diet. Try eating smaller meals all day but be sure you eat. Oh and CONGRATS on the LOSS!!

      Thanks for the info. I read the book and I do remember it saying that there was a loss of appetite. I know im in ketosis because I have the strips and they get as dark as they can when I use them. I will force feed myself. Hopefully it gets better.

        I have good days and bad days a s far as eating, but usually when i eat something i shouldnt it is because i was sooo hungry and just came off a couple days of not wanting to eat. I get soo hungry and cant satisfy it , i guess. So do try to get the amount you should be eating.

          Wow!!! Congrats on the super-fast loss! I know what you mean about the "just not hungry thing"--it struck me on Day 4. But do try to eat a little something every few hours, even if it's just a couple slices of turkey or chicken, a piece of cheese, etc. I notice that I can easily go hours without even thinking about food, but then if hunger strikes all of a sudden, I crave carbs like mad.

          Keep it up and let us know how you're doing! I'd love to hear what you've lost by the end of Day 14

            Loss of appetite is a sign that you are in ketosis.

            However, you might want to start asking yourself this question.....Am I eating 4 eggs, cheese and 3 pieces of bacon because that satisfies my lowered appetite or am I eating that amount because that's the amount I usually eat of anything for breakfast?

            Listen to your body and just eat to satisfy your hunger---your body won't let you starve.

                Great going on the weight loss! To keep your appetite up throughout the day try to eat a smaller breakfast (and even leave the table alittle hungry). That way you'll be ready for your next meal - w/in 6 hours.
