I'm still in week one of induction, and had to do a family dinner thing last night with my husband's extended family, most of whom I don't really know. (YIKES!) Fortunately we went to the Keg, so I was confident I could find something to eat. Had a sirloin with veggies, and replaced the potato with asparagus. The waitress was so nice, she didn't even charge extra for doing that. I was also so glad that my husband's aunt (who was sitting across from us) was also watching her weight and generally skips the starches. So we had the same thing. I always hate going to a function and having to explain why I can't eat what everyone else is. It's always a problem for me since I have IBS. But this time I was able to stay well within my carb limit (even packed up most of the veggies instead of eating them - and I was acutally full anyway!) without drawing ANY attention. Yaaahoooo! In fact I even fit in!

Re: I survived eating out!
Congrats! That is a major hurdle to jump over (in my opinion). I generally try to eat out at the same place so I know there is something I can order that I enjoy eating.Heidi
