Totally Binged... on Induction foods though. Did I do damage?

  • Totally Binged... on Induction foods though. Did I do damage?

    On my 3rd day and I had a really stressful day at work today. I feel like I was eating all.day.long. Though I was using Induction foods. Do you think I should start over and do 17 days? I feel so guilty, I am so committed to this program, but I have a huge binging problem.

    Today I ate:

    8am - 4 small strips of bacon
    10am-hardboiled egg
    11:30am - 4 oz. of chicken (seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon pepper & rosemary), salad, 1 small roma tomato with 13 sprays of Wishbone Caeser spray. 4 oz. of cheese, another hardboiled egg.
    2:30pm - half a cucumber w/o skin
    4:30pm - another hardboiled egg
    6:30pm - Turkey burger, half cup green beans
    7:00pm - String Cheese
    8:00pm - 3 small strips of bacon, another (this makes 4) hardboiled egg, 2 oz piece of cheddar cheese


    (you can see afternoon/evening is my downfall)...

    what do you think?

    Looks to me like you are way under your carb limit so you did fine except for the Salad Spray. I used to use those all the time, and love them so I checked as soon as I started Atkins. Reading the ingredients all mine have high sugar content (Fructose syrup being one of the main ingredients). (not sure about the Ceasar, but willing to bet it's there too) Otherwise I'd say you did great. I wouldn't start over.

        If I counted correctly, I see 7 ounces of cheese. The induction limit is 3 - 4 ounces. You might want to watch your cheese intake.

        I would just make the corrections and continue onward. Feeling guilty is a normal response, but it's a complete 'waist' of time. You can't undo yesterday, but you sure can change today!

          All of their suggestions and...

          I use fitday to log in all of my foods, it is amazing how things can get distorted in your mind! LOL

          Give yourself a break, you are only on day 3...you may not be in ketosis yet and are still eating like you normally would.

          One suggestion, let your hunger go for 20 minutes, drink water and see what happens... you may just find that you have gone to the next meal without realizing it!

          You can do this, I know you can!!! Pop in to let us know how today went!!

            I'm on Day 11 Induction and I hear your pain. I too feel hungry all day and want to eat cheese and pork rinds and pepperoni and all the legal snacks that I can think of. BUT I DON"T!!! I don't because I know myself. I know that once I start binging on these legal snacks, I won't want to stop. Not only that, we have a limited amount of cheese we can eat and the other stuff has lots of sodium. That will then make me retain water and it won't reflect on the scale. Do you see where I'm going with this? Anyways, so what I've been doing is just chugging up that water. I have a 32 oz bottle at work that I refill constantly. By the end of the day, I end up counting between 168 - 200 oz. Try it and see if it works.

            BTW, I've lost 6 pounds so far on induction.

                  You will feel much less hungry once in ketosis. When I did induction I ate so much food!

                    Well if you're going to cheat at least you cheated with legal foods. Just watch your cheese intake! Stay strong!

                      Hey BellyButton, you'll be ok. There have been at least a few days since I started on February 24 that I ate more than I should have of *legal* foods. It's not a good thing, but it could be much worse - it could have been sugary, carb-laden food. As long as you don't make it a habit I wouldn't worry. Also, like others have said once you get into ketosis it will be easier because your appetite will be suppressed.
