  • a few questions please

I have a question for you guys. What are your thoughts on gaining muscle and it showing on the scale? Do you think that is fact? I have always heard muscle weighs more etc. I am up this morning about 1 1/2 lbs but I have really been hitting the weights at the gym. Every other day. I had all my water yesterday ate on plan??

I have two questions actually the other one is what are your thoughts on your body not wanting to go past a certain weight? As I have said in the past since leaving Atkins in January I went to a low calorie diet, then to WW then got fed up and said better go with what I know works. Now here I am. I have fluctuated between 170 and 162 for about 5 months now, I cant seem to get past that weight I have never been lower in my life except for when I was in high school before I gained all this weight.

    Thankx

      Re: a few questions please

I think your post didn't save, Booklady...

tacfla - about weights, yes, muscle weighs more than fat. But that being said, if you've been hitting the weights at the gym and drinking you water, chances are that you are retaining water - which helps your muscles recover faster, but makes the scale less happy with you. If I'm sore from weights, I usually take the scale reading with the knowledge that some of it is water weight.

For the second part.. sometimes your body will stay at a weight it was for a long time and it takes a while to get past that (it took me umm.. 4 months I think of clean eating and working out religiously to get below 210), but it *does* happen. If you're 5'3", your body shouldn't be saying to stay at 162-170.

        Re: a few questions please

Robin, I saved this picture and I don't know who to pay credit to for it but I thought this might help. It saves me on those days where I wanna give up because I've been working out and the scale is moving up instead of down.

        Hope that helps!

It is still there, but I think my reply was just too far after her question she did not see it, others had replied before I did, but it was just funny to look at this and say, hey, I read that somewhere else and answered it, I know I did , lol !!

Isn't that great. And it's not a bunch of crock either. I'm a student nurse right now and I've seen that comparison time and time again on models and on real live people!
