Ok, I thought this might be a good place to post, I have another post over in the main forum as well.
I have been doing my form of Atkins (not really Atkins at all) since the middle of Feb. I am well into ketosis and have maintained that since, I've not cheated (in that I've not eaten off plan at all). What has been brought to my attention is that I am not doing Atkins as the good doc. wanted it to be done, not all of my foods were good and the majority of them were not induction. So after over a month of doing things my way I have listened and instituted the suggestions and here I am.
Day one of Induction.
Now, I've been on and off Atkins for about 8 years now, I've never really measured anything...so I guess I was never doing Atkins properly. Yes, I've read and re-read the book, yes I own it. But it looked simple enough so I figured I would just look at the 'food' portion and wing it...no more.
Today's menu is as follows:
3oz celery, raw
1oz cream cheese
2 cups lettuce, iceberg
2oz mushrooms, raw
1 Atkins shake (I know this is not induction but I have two left one for this morning and one for another morning - breakfast - i refuse to waste anything
1.7oz broccoli
1tbsp ranch dressing (I actually used 2...one was way too little)
6oz Prime Rib
4oz Chicken breast, skin on
my numbers are as follows:
1,237 calories 92.8g fat 16.6 carbs 82.7g protein
67% fat
5% Carbs
28% protein
I am heading to the gym right now and will push the water, I also had a cup of herbal tea this morning.
