  • Helpful observation for those considering induction

I am finished with induction (though, I can't weigh until Sun - I'm in the No Weigh challenge).

I have had a perfectly clean induction, which is remarkable to me. Here's why. I am a classic nighttime eater. I would skip breakfast and have dinner around 6, then have a very high carb "snack" just before bed, say 10pm. If I couldn't sleep, I'd have another snack. Needless to say, this wasn't good.

On induction, I am absolutely, positively not hungry at night. I might have a piece of cheese around 7 or 8, but nothing after that. I was shocked that induction could get me out of the terrible night eating habit so far, and it has worked.

Just wanted to offer this encouragement to those considering/starting induction.

Yeah, it really is one of the wonders of Atkins. I feel so, so much more in control of my eating. I really was a slave to food before , and I let it get way out of hand.

    Great encouraging post!

I also used to eat constantly after dinner. And I hated eating breakfast.

But, as you've noted, eating a good breakfast (and, for me, a good lunch) makes a tremendous difference in how much I want to eat after dinner.

Congratulations on the squeaky clean induction. You are off to the best start possible!

Thanks Sunny - you're right regarding breakfast. It's almost as if we were made to eat in a 12-hour window during the day. So, by eating breakfast at 7, the window "closes" at 7pm. By eating lunch as the first meal at noon, then midnight the window closes. What a difference...Elegantly simple....

I agree. I actually don't have any late night cravings any more like I used to. No more midnight hotpockets, slice of chocolate cake, or left over fast-food! I'm done with that way of living!
