    ANSWER:TRUE
    Acesulfame-K,Sucralose (Splenda), Saccharin and Stevia are the sugar substitutes Dr. Atkins said were okay to use during Induction.

    ANSWER: TRUE

    3. Peanuts are allowed during the first 14 days of Induction.
    ANSWER: FALSE
    Peanuts are legumes, although they are considered to be nuts by some folks. No matter their food classification, peanuts are not allowed during the 14 Day Induction.


    4. It's okay to save up your carbs and eat them all at one meal.
    ANSWER: FALSE
    Saving up your carbs for one meal will serve to destabilize your blood sugar and lead to a relatively exaggerated insulin response. Part of this weight loss and weight maintenance on this diet depends on keeping the blood sugar and insulin levels steady.

    The ratios represent the percentages of eat of these nutrients in your daily caloric intake. Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein diet.

    The roast turkey is obvious. Summer squash (zucchini or yellow neck) are on the 'other vegetable' list. Mushrooms are on the 'salad' list. Each of these vegetables can be eaten in the acceptable daily amounts during Induction. 3 tablespoons of heavy cream is permissible as well as the packet of Splenda. Like the vegetables, they can be consumed at their appropriate amounts.

    Sugar-free Jello Brand gelatin is sweetened with aspartame, which is the artificial sweetener Dr. Atkins said to avoid.

      Good one Megs.

      Just a note that word most induction friendly for number 7 doesn't mean we should be having that much splenda sweetened heavy cream as heavy cream is in the special cataGORY FOODS and some folk will be doing a perfect Atkins induction and not able to handle that amount if any cream.
