      Yep, both are allowed on OWL. Almonds can be added back during OWL Rung 3 and berries during OWL Rung 4.

        i read a post that said you can switch through rugs if u dont like the rug ur in

        I had a very long talk with the Atkins folks before I moved to OWL in June 2002 back when Dr Atkins was still alive. they said you could turn your ladder into more like a net and go sideways on a rung adding more of that food group if your weight loss and craving control could handle it, you could skip whole rungs if you didn't like the food or couldn't handle it at this point in your program and come back and retry it later on. You could sub a lower rung for a higher rung you didn't like or couldn't handle too.
        Like you can go 1,1,1,2,3,4,1,6,7,etc or 1,1,1,1,2,3,3,3,4,4,5,6,6,6, etc or even 1,2,3,4,1,6,7,8,9, whatever you likw and your body can handle. They strongly cautioned against adding a higher level rung and then jumping back down the ladder like 1,9,2,3,4, etc bwcause the higher rungs werre higher GI and could effect your craving controls and sabatage your efforts.

            I know that I intend to stretch out OWL kinda like you said, where one rung might last 4 weeks. I want to do that so I can figure out what specific foods stall me or trigger cravings. To be honest with you, I'm really excited to start OWL soon. I was hoping to start once my weight loss tapers, but if it doesn't slow in a few weeks, I may just enter Rung 1 anyway.

            Start date: 03/14/09
            Goal #1 - 260 - Met 04/12/09! Goal #4 - 230 - Met 08/03/09!
            Goal #2 - 250 - Met 05/22/09! Goal #5 - 220 - Met 01/29/10 FINALLY!
            Goal #3 - 240 - Met 06/20/09! Goal #6 - 210

              That's right. So you can stay on a rung for more than one week if you want to test more foods or just like that rung. Also, you don't have to do a rung if you don't want to have foods from that particular rung. For example, if you don't drink, you would of course skip OWL Rung 5 (alcohol).

              Yes, pistachios are allowed during OWL Rung 3. All nuts should be added in 1 oz amounts regardless of their carb count, except cashews which should be added in 1/2 oz.

              Good for you! As soon as you answer with "yes" to any of the questions in Chapter 13, it's time to move to OWL.

                Ok so heres wut im thinkin..

                when i started induction this time.. i was 86.. 3 days later i'm 84 .. then TOm came.. n' i weighed this mornin im 85 ! .. u think i'll loose some weight when TOM is out ?.. or when i start going on induction again without the aspartame..
                another thing.. I dunt usually eat 3 meals.. due to work hours.. i can't eat 6 Am.. n' i have to be out of the house by 6 ! .. so owl would be very useful i could just take almonds or smthn..

                Menu of today I kinda broke it so i'll tell u yesterday instead

                I started eating at 5 pm ! I ate shish tawook chicken with mayoo sugar free
                then i ate cheese bites i got from linda's recipe with marinara sauce ( 2 smal tea spoons)

                then I hate 3 small very thing slices of my induction firnedly cheese cake !
                Thats it

                Today .. I broke in breakfast I had smoked turkey panini !

                but then back to normal induction I had boiled shrimps
                n' now I just had one cheese bite and 3 chicken hot dogs without Added sugars or Carbs .. I checked !

                So me undereating is affecting right ?
                I usually eat 3 times a day when im starting my day at 9 am ! .. I really can't eat that early !

                  Yes, TOM probably causes you some water retention. However, it's impossible to say whether you'll lose more by the end of your period. Everyone's different. Watch how your weight changes around TOM for the next months and then you might be able to draw a pattern of what you should expect in the future.

                  This may or may not be "legal" for Induction, depending on how the chicken was prepared. Did you use ketchup and/or yogurt?

                  It might on the long term, but that's not everything. Are you eating any vegetables? Do you stay within the cheese/cream/sweetener limit? Also take the blood sugar test on pages 150-151 and see if the cheesecake causes you any trouble.

                        The rice is not legal before OWL Rung 9... so sashimi (just that, not the sauce it comes with) is okay to have. But is there sushi mentioned in this thread?

                          Well, I was doing really good on TOM, i was following religiusly, then I went off the wagon by adding some nuts n' sometimes even not following atkins on lunch !! .. NOW IM IN THE COMFORT FOOD ZONE because i just broke up :'( and im feeling misrable ! .. anyhow, I try to weight my self everyday, now i'm still 85, but im afraid on the long run this week i'll gain more weight back.. Some days I didnt eat except once and that was a cheese burgur with brown bread
                          others I ate a popsticle and some nuts and one meal
                          AHHHHHHHHHHHH.. I really need to get back on Now.. BUt i can't im too frustrated and depressed !! .. normally I wouldn't go for the sweet things alot.. now I JUST can't stop eating frozed fruits ice creams !

                          WUT SHOULD I DO .. HELP !

                            Thank you so much for your photo comments. I think I need to loose more weight, The black dress photo is just the dress I think, but the one in the gold blouse is the most recent .. do u think I should lose way more ??

                            NOw im in no condition. seriously im a wreck .. i've been in this relationship for 6 years now it just ended !

                                I seriously think you look fine but i have not seen you face to face to know how big or small you are I would say set a realistic goal and really go for it.Please don't be upset things will get better insha allah look at me i have lost 103lbs under a year if I can do it so can you you just have to be strong and determination work on that and it will help you achieve your goal.Try and be more independent and take responsibility you know you want to lose the weight then be strong and lose it.Remember that weight will not shift untill you make it shift.I hope this will make you strong and you will be back on track.
