  • Weight loss stalled during induction

I started the Atkins Induction on Monday and for the first 3 days I lost 3lbs. Today is Saturday and for the past 2 days I have lost nothing. I know its not a big deal it's just a little disheartening because I've stuck to it like crazy and all of my carbs have been veggies and small amounts of cheese.
Is this normal? And when will the weight continue to drop off?

What are you eating exactly? We might be able to pinpoint something if we see your menu.

It might also depend on how much it is you have to lose. I lost a total of about 6lbs during induction. Not everyone loses 15-20lbs. I think it is normal for weight loss to "ebb and flow".

    What about exercise?

I know it can be frustrating but really, you are off to a good start!

Normally I only have time for 2 meals a day.
Breakfast is usually eggs either poached or omlette, sometimes with 100% pork sausages.
And for Dinner either chicken and steamed vegetables or homemade cheesburgers with veg.
Ive been drinking plenty of water with the odd class of diet coke and the odd cup of tea/coffee (both decaf). And I only have soya milk with them.
The only snack I have had is sugar free jelly with a small serving of heavy cream.
      Thats about it really.
      Any suggestions?

Eat at least every 6 hours. Dr. Atkins believed that this will help us keep our blood sugar stable. In my experience, it also prevents overeating at the next meal.

Spread your vegetables throughout the day, to avoid a blood sugar spike. What veggies are you having?

Soy milk is not allowed during Induction. This is the Induction Acceptable Foods List: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

It's perfectly normal not to lose weight every day: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ot-linear.html. This is why Dr. Atkins advised us to weigh only at the end of Induction.

And don't forget to take body measurements too, not got solely by the scale. Losing inches is the best indicator of fat loss.

So apart from the soy milk everything else is ok?

I've only been having it really once a day in tea/coffee. But from now on I'll drink green tea.
This won't have affected my weightloss too much will it?

I suggest trying to get in regular meals.
And you made the cream yourself?
The sugarfree jello has a sweetner - aspartame that Atkins says stall some people's loss.
I think you're on the right track though. It ebbs and flows for sure - our losses. So just roll with it.

Are you in UK, fairyfay? If so the sausages might not only contain induction-legal ingredients, so check the labels.
Unfortunately, "100% pork" does not mean there is just pork and no other fillers like rusk/flour/breadcumbs in UK. It just means that any meat in it is from a pig
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I didn't see you say that you were eating salad? I just wonder if you are really getting enough salad/veggies in. And ideally, they should be spread out over the day if possible.
