  • Only one pound! GRR~

I did Atkins just last year and lost 15 pounds rather quickly. This time I've been on Induction for 6 days and I've lost ONE pound. ONE pound!

    WHAT'S GOING ON?!?!?!

I'm not giving up but man I'm so frustrated I could eat a tub of ice cream.

Well, it's not last year. And if you had dieted this past year, you might have slowed down your metabolism. This is why it's a bad idea to diet instead of changing your WoE for life. Did you figure out what caused you to go off Atkins last year?

    WHAT'S GOING ON?!?!?!
Hard to say without a menu. If you want to post a menu with net carb counts and amounts for everything you eat, we can take a look.

You could... but you know it will only make matters worse!

A quick look at your blog
      I have the following thoughs
cheese - too much of it? Try to reduce amounts
sweeteners - are you within limits - good to reduce
vegetables - did not look to me like you are eating them right - check the Atkins books for the specifics (2 cups from the salad list - one from the other list)
Water - drink plenty (may have to cut out that diet rite)

Do not despair - you are at that age where we do change our metabolism - it is not great but it happens. Don't compare to last time. This is a new journey. Have you had a check up lately and had your thyroid checked.

You are eating healthy and it is working - just hang in there

Thanks for pointing out the blog link, Liv. I missed it when I replied here.

Alice, every day (I think) you had Diet Rite and tea with Sweet 'n Low. You also had Cream Cheese Puffs and Cream Cheese Balls, and are wondering if George Stella's pancakes are allowed on Induction (I don't know... depends on the ingredients). Yes, one can have Diet Rite; but diet sodas are still junk, imo. And yes, one can have desserts, but they should be occassional, not every day items on one's menu. It is clear that you have a very happy sweet tooth. Feeding it will keep it happy, but it won't do you any good.

It would still be useful to post your menus here, with net carbs and amounts.
