first course: Smoked salmon and crabmeat are legal if not drowning in some sugared/starched sauce. Likely hidden carbs if the crabmeat is in a salad or patty form. The dill sauce will probably not be okay due to sugar; rinse the cucumber? Bring your own legal cucumber salad?

second: Nope - request a salad with a legal dressing? Bring your own?

third: Plain turkey, seasonal vegetables if not sauced with something containing starch/sugar. The chipolatas are probably okay if the sausage used doesn't have any bread filler - ask! They'll likely have a high sodium content, though, so be wary of water retention is a possibility.

fourth: Nope - bring your own legal dessert?

fifth: Coffee or tea depending on your tastes and not already sugared

I dont think I can bring my own dressing cuz we are going to dine at a ballroom of a private club,no bag and no cellphone,I'm ok without any dressing.

Huh. Interesting on the bag. Even in the military in dress blues at a formal dining in we were allowed a small black bag/purse. What are you suppose to do? Go without ID, house/car key, misc. makeup, chapstick, etceteras? What if you needed to carry a tampon with you "just in case"? Are you suppose to shove it under one of your breasts in your bra?

Break the "rule"? What are they going to do? Bar you from entrance for having a purse with food in it necessary to meet your dietary needs? This is just a social function for a church, not some high security event, right? And people have dietary needs a blanket dinner may not cover. Talk to kitchen and planners in advance and see if you can bring foods before the dinner and then have them served to you if you can't have them/aren't comfortable having them with you. Despite my new siggy, I have been LC on and off since 2003. Have attended a lot of luncheons/dinners in semi-formal to formal settings and never had a problem getting them to accommodate my dietary needs if I contacted them in advance or if I brought my own or if I picked and scraped and requested omission of foods/courses on the menu since I knew I wouldn't be eating them.

Another option would be to eat beforehand and then just nibble during the dinner on what's reasonably safe and going without courses if needed. The most important thing is don't stress about what you can/cannot eat - enjoy the social occasion! Good luck to you.

          >>how many carbs in this menu>>

Without knowing the serving size or ingredients, it would be impossible to tell.

Also, one should learn how to count carbs for oneself! Relying on someone else to do the counting isn't good planning ... you don't know how accurate they are.

As to the eating ... this is a problem menu!

You should be able to get the salad without a dressing.

The turkey should be ok. The ham is problematic.

If you like mushrooms, you could just eat the consomme.

The "seasonal" vegetables might be ok ... unless they're root vegetables.

Sometimes in situations like this you have to make the best choices that you can. My personal approach has been ... avoid the obvious sugary things, and even if I eat a vegetable that's higher on a rung than I was, it was still a vegetable.

You might even be able to get a few plain berries instead of the usual dessert.

I would also want to make sure the crabmeat was "real" ... and not the fake stuff, which is quite carby.

Bottom line ... it's not really about the food, it's about the people.

It's impossible to say what foods are ATkins friendly and what aren't because you would need to know the ingredients of the dishes. For example, the smoked salmon salad looks Atkins friendly, but if that "parcel" is parcelled in pastry and the filling is held together with a flour-based cream sauce, it's not friendly. Ditto for the "seasonal vegetables"---what are they? If they are lima beans, rutabagas and carrots, they're not Atkins friendly.

You might want to ask the people preparing the food what is in it. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed. Simply tell them you are on a special diet for your health and you need to know the ingredients. You don't need to tell them you are on Atkins or anything else.

            Good luck to you.

They might not be "friendly" for Induction, but they are Atkins friendly for some phases and some people.
