  • Day 5 - hit a snag! Please Help

    Hi everyone

    All is going well, but I have a terribly embarrasing problem - hard, painful stools.

    I am drinking the recommended amount of water each day, I am not constipated or anything like that....so what could the problem be?

    Are you having enough fats? Also, what veggies are you eating? Veggies like lettuces do not have a lot of fiber. Are you having your veggies from the "other veggie" list? Those veggies have a lot of fiber and the ones where you eat the skins and seeds may help in the smoothage department.

              Drink more - exercise - make sure you eat veggies and your fats.
              You are not taking iron supplements or anything? This is when I get hard stools so I thought I would ask.
              Startdate: November 18, 2007. Female 5'2"

              May Challenges 2010
              Push-ups: 450/800
              Abs: 850/1900
              Squats: 650/1200
              Lunges: 500/1000
              Strength: 490/1200

                I'm on day 6 and I had the same problem yesterday. I drink waaaay more water than the 2 liters and eat all my veggies and fats. So I decided to drink a Smooth Move tea. It's a laxative tea that you can find in health food stores. You drink it at night before bed and then have your bowel movement the next morning. I'm not normally a laxative person, but I was feeling really backed up and having difficulty with bowel movements. Just an idea...

                  Try drinking 1/2 your current body weight in ounces of water.

                  If you don't have enough water in your system, your body will take it ... and the result can be what you're experiencing.

                    PLEASE don't use this very often ... if ever again.

                    All you're doing is teaching your body to rely on a chemical.

                    Have a flax muffin instead! or even a stool softener without a laxative is better ... or magnesium supplements.

                    Senna can be addictive to your system.
