    There must be a lot of pepper to have 4.4 net carbs of it!

    If there are indeed 4.4 net carbs per serving and you don't know where they are coming from, then don't eat that.

    It wasnt a mcdonalds salad it was a mcdonalds big tasty pattie, with salad, but no cheese (as its processed) or sauces, or bun.
    My bad there. I don't know how I read that the salad has 460 calories.

        It's "allowed", but you can still be undereating your vegetables by consuming 3 cups.

        Over half of your net carbs should come from vegetables.

        There are ways to increase your net carbs from vegetables and stay to no more than 20 net carbs. You can either choose more nutritious vegetables... or add a few more veggies to your menu (but make sure you measure properly!).

        And check your vitamins and minerals in FitDay to make sure you are making good food choices. Being deficient in certain nutrients can slow down your metabolism.

          O.k. from looking at your menu it seems like you are trying to do a low calorie version of Atkins. This will not work. I'm going to be honest, if you don't like to cook and won't cook different kinds of foods this way of eating will not work (don't feel bad, soooooo many people don't like to cook).

          692 calories can make your body go into the "OH NO" food is scarce and I'm starving mode. You have to eat more food! I know, I know eating more may seem like fat, fat, fat, like most low cal diets preach, but you need to get more of your fat from foods other than cheese.

          I'll be back to post my menu for a day. Mind you I was 170+ at that time. Right now I'm 169. You should eat at least 10x your weight or 12x. I'll be back.

            Brightstar 7901 I started on Atkins 11.1.10 so anything before that on fitday was incorrect.

            I dont think I doing a low cal version my daily calorie intake is around 1,700 The only fat I wont eat is on meat, yuk. Nothing is going to make me eat that. lol

              first off congrats on getting 12 days done. have you measured to see the inches of body fat you are losing. Because one pound is a higher percent of your total needed to lose weight you will see inches changing faster then pounds shed.


              your foods look okay for induction choices except you got 3 cups of mushrooms in your salad is that a mistake?

              about that burger the 100% beef ones I'm seeing have less carbs but they have more then just salt and pepper Ingredients Beef (98%), Flavourings (Maltodextrin, Process Flavouring, Sunflower Oil), Salt, Dextrose, Rice Flour, Yeast Extract, Onion Powder, Black Pepper, Black Pepper Extract. Did you input the one with the onions to get the higher carb count?


              now you need to make a choice about your carbs.

              since over 1/2 our carbs must come from our veggies and we have a 3 cup limit we will either need to pick higher carb veggies from those lists in our 3 cups limit OR we need to give up some of our other legal foods that contain carbs to keep them to less then 1/2 our total for the day carb count.

              for example in your salad you could have tomatoes peppers or onions instead of the cucumbers and mushrooms to increase your carb count from your veggies. or you could have less lettuce and add those carbier veggies in its place either way your veggie carb count will increase. or you could give up some of your cheese and your carby burgers for not processed 100% pure beef burgers to lower your not from veggie carbs.

              the choice is yours but the vits and minerals in eating colored veggies really need to be in your intake for best weight loss and health.


              Oh and cream cheese counts in our cheese allotment so it is 4 ounces total of both not 4 of each.

                The burgers I brought the ingredients were 99% beef, black pepper & salt. So not sure wher the carbs came from.

                I understand that I should only have 3-4oz cheese per day. But I was depressed after reading all these posts about my food and stupidly decided to have some extra cheese and cucumber :-( at least I didnt eat the ice cream my daughter was tucking into lol

                  Ah the old I'm an emotional eater issue. It can sound like you are being gang bullied when you post your questions as a newbie and give folk access to your fitday. Eaqch person is actually trying the best they know how to help you become the bestest atkinseer you can so you will become a life long goalie. The words and methods they choice to say them can appear to be a personel attack cause in the english language we don't have a familar and plural you like they do in other languages so it all looks like they are yelling SANDRA do this and do that when they are sometimes saying Atkins followers do this.

                  Now put on your bestest big girl pants and repeat after me "I will not allow anybody who posts on a message board to have control over me!" cause that is just what you did when you emotionally ate the cream cheese. Hang in there and figure out what you can do to control your emotional eating. Try an atkins emergency kit. write yourself a love letter about why you deserve to be the smaller healthier version of yourself you are working so hard to become. Make copies of that letter and reread it every morning and every night. Then should you ever even think about stuffing something in your mouth as an emotional eat reread your letter and sit down and write another letter to yourself about why you deserve to eat that food more then you deserve to be the healtheir smaller version you are working on. If you should finish that letter about why you do deserve that emotional eat more come tell me about it cause that must be some as Cleochatra would say ubberific food. Nobody I know has ever finished the second letter.

                  oh and I saw your post about your meds. did you know being ill can cause fluid weight gain and hunger issues as our immune systems fight for us?

                    I pulled it up again, and it looks like you added more items. I must have pulled it up before you had more to eat. So yeah you look like you are eating enough.

                      Did you find your bestest girlpants Sandra? I am looking for mine. That was great advice. It is about you. And you are doing pretty good. I also think if you are under the weather this may be. I looked through your fitday and thought it was pretty good. You could do a little more oil or butter or mayo or something here or there.

                        Yeah I do need to eat more fat or just cut back on the protein. I have been told I eat too much dairy. I am really not sure where to get my fats from if I cut back on dairy, I wont have enough fats arrrrrgh . I hate fatty meat, yuk, will never eat it. So I can only get my fats from butter, olive oil, cheese, mayo and the like. Heeeelp

                        Although today Ive had some olives, so hopefully that goes towards my fat

                            Butter on veggies. Olive oil on salads. Dressings. Sauces.

                            Although today Ive had some olives, so hopefully that goes towards my fat
                            Remember that the limit is 20 per day.

                              And Sandra, we're commenting on your menu because we are trying to help you get things right... not just for the sake of criticizing it... and definitely not for criticizing you.

                              It doesn't mean that your menu is horrible and totally wrong.

                              There are several things that can be tweaked there... and those are the ones we are trying to point out.

                                glad you are hanging in there. An old member used to tell folk who got their feeling hurt to pull up their big girl panties and forget it and I figured if you were sick and a confused newbie that is an emotional eater you really needed the bestest big girl panties availible.

                                instead of telling us what you don't like in the way of healthy fats how about telling us what you do like and we can make some suggestions?

                                I hate MAYO!! there I said it out loud. I don't put it on nothing! I used to only use it for making spicey coleslaw when I started lowcarbing But I love aoili which is very very garlicy mayo and I liked the spicey green sauce at our local asian resturant and since I'm soy allergic I ask them if it had soy in it and was told it was fresh grated horshradish in a home made peanut oil mayo with a drop of green food coloring so folk would know it was the hot one. I make that at home but leave out the green coloring.
                                And I got adventurous and made Paula Dean's DIll Cheesey Cod bake which is inductioin legal. it is just cod fillet baked on one side flipped and then covered with chopped dill mixed with cheese of choice (I've used swiss and cheddar with the dill and gruyere without the dill) and mayo to finish cooking. The mayo when cooked tastes nothing like mayo from the jar so that one is a keeper for me. I use EEOV or butter cause I like them, and then some flavored oils as finishing oils for dishes like walnut, sesame, herb infused EEOV and macadamia. I'm not a fan of coconut so I don't use it but others love it so they use it.

                                Since I have a hectic schedule when I was starting out I pre cooked unflavored chicken pork and beef to a minimum cooked temp for saftey and then stored them individually. When it was meal til I added some herbs or spices to the frying pan with some oil or butter and then reheated my protein food while fishing off the outside with a nice browning. That way whatever I was in the mood for was ready in just a few minutes and I never had to have the same meal day after day nor cook a new one every day.

                                Your dairy issues can be fixed in a few days since you are on day 14 now. Tommorow since you are in ketosis move to OWL and add 5 more net grams of veggies on rung one of the carbohydrate ladder. after you see how those yummy induction veggies in bigger amounts are effecting your ketosis and weight loss you can move to rung 2 and add more dairy either more cheese or some frsh stuff like yogurt, cottage, and ricotta cheeses and see how that effects you.

                                I know you been under the weather and will be stopping your meds next week but what are you doing for your mandatory exerice part of your atkins? come join the ADBB PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE for some fun doing whatever you do as your exercise. they got everything from housework and playing with kiddies to weight training dancing and skiing.
