Hi Guys,
This is my 2nd time on Induction. (Began it 3/12/10) First time was Fall of '07. Did GREAT!!! It was easy and it worked. Of course, combined it with exercise which is also easy for me. Then I had my 2nd knee surgery (and a few more birthdays!)
Over this past fall and winter, I've put on a few pounds that I'd like to lose. I'm 5'4 1/2, beginning weight was 141. I am on Premarin due to Menopause, have had a hysterectomy. Also, on Levoxyl due to removal of my Thyroid. I'm 54 years old. And I have a few other "annoying" health concerns - most of which are autoimmune.
Anyway, I've been faithfully following Induction - putting everything I eat and all exercising, etc. into my journal - both on Fitday and my own. I workout out at the gym 5x/week with cardio and weight training. I lost 5 lbs. and over the past few days, I either haven't lost anything or have put some of it back on. I'm drinking more than adequate amts of water daily, taking Atkins recommended supplements to get over the metabolic resistance syndrome.
Since it came off easier a few years ago, am I just expecting too much too soon. I'm even counting calories now (which I didn't do before). I'm trying to keep my calorie intact around 1200, carbs are between 15-20. I know it needs to be 20, but I'm getting as close to it as possible without going over. All recipes are from the "Induction Friendly" category or from Linda's, plus I'm doing my own counts.
I had the same medical concerns in '07 - so what gives this time? Any help or guidance you can give would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to get too frustrated too soon. It hasn't even been 2 weeks yet.
Thanks,
JC
