wait, are your stats correct? 5'10 and your 165? Thats actually where you should be. I'm 5'10 and I'm hoping to get down to 180. You might want to check with a doctor to see if you need to do anything with your diet, if your stats are correct, you should be at the correct weight.

anywho.. do a search for whats called a Mock Danish.. its induction legal and will help cure sugar cravings, at least it did for me

Start your new WOL with fresh healthy thoughts

Positive self-talk is extremely important. Attitude is everything.

      I messed up!
      I learned a lesson - next time I will do ____ instead.

It is going to be quite hard.
It is fun and easy with Atkins.

out of frustration to eat something sweet
I avoid frustration by eating a mock danish when I crave something sweet.

      i totally binged
I totally bypass a binge by eating healthy food whenever
      i'm feeling hungry.

The phrase that I like is:

Nothing worth having comes without effort.

Also, Choice, not chance determines destiny.

It will be tough, but you are the sole person in charge of whether you will lose the fat. Keep telling yourself that.

When you get an urge, ask yourself if you would rather eat the candy bar or whether you would rather be less fat.

Don't forget, when you get kicked out of ketosis, you lose 3 days worth of effort. It is why you really can't "cheat" on Atkins. It really messes up your progress.

Just keep telling yourself, you can egt through the first week or two and then the cravings will be gone. If that doesn't work, remember how far you've come already and cheating will mean that some of that hard work was a complete waste.

The thing that ALWAYS worked for me was realizing that if i get out of ketosis, i will have completely wasted 3 days.

When I got serious cravings... I "binged" on legal food. I'd get out some hard-boiled eggs or cook some bacon. Dr. Atkins said something in his book like, you often see people finish a bag of cookies, but you rarely see someone finish a bag of bacon. It's true. Once you start filling yourself with legal food, you lose the desire to eat and your blood sugar stabilizes, illeminating your cravings. If you've just GOT to have that ice cream, promise yourself you'll eat a plate of eggs first. You'll likely see your cravings diminish dramatically.
I'm 26 years old, and I lost weight on this plan in 2005. I'm getting married in August and thought this would be the way to go after making little progress on other diets. I've got 20 lbs to lose for the big day!
