  • Stag Weekend!

Hi guys - i am a newbie and am 5 days into my 14days induction and have alread lost 6lbs however i get married in two weeks and its my stag doo this weekend!

Now in an ideal world id love to stay off the alcohol but it simply is not going to happen - what is the least damaging to my diet plan in terms of drinks? I assume Beer is a definate no no - however i am hoping Vodka and Diet Cokes might be the less damaging!

    Welcome to ADBB!

    Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

While I might personally think vodka and diet coke is a terrible thing to do to vodka, it's certainly a better choice than beer.

Keep in mind that if you're in ketosis, having alcohol can pack a whollup ... so be prepared.

Generally shots & diet/water is good. Avoid beer & liqueurs (anything sweet). Also make sure that you eat a good meal before you go - it will help lessen the impact of the alcohol, and you might be less tempted to snack on BAD food

      Have fun!!

Drink vodka and diet drinks, or if you can stomach it, drink it 'neat' (with water). It'll keep the carbs lower and keep you hydrated.

More than the drinks, watch out for the drunk munchies. So either don't get too drunk where you have no self control, or get so drunk that you end up kidnapping a tiger and passing out on the roof of a hotel (it's a movie ppl!)

....and don' forget to wash the glitter off

Have fun and get back on track the next day so you can look your best for the big day. Congrats!!!

Hi there - you could also order just a diet pop and no one will know there isn't alcohol in it? LOL

I'm all for following this WOE to the letter, but it's his STAG....I think a little leniency can be given. There are some occasions where alcohol makes the event a lot more fun.

It's not up to us to give permission.

I suspect the OP had already decided what he's going to do even before he even posted!

The bottom line ... a person can have fun without alcohol.

The older I get the more I realize that I don't "need" alcohol to have a good time.

And I look back and wonder how it was that I thought puking or having a hang-over ever was a "good time".
