I am currently 7 days into induction and I was wondering what factors I should take into account when deciding to move forward. Should I do induction for 14 days and then move onto OWL or should I try extended induction? My stats are correct..as I have lost 6.6 lbs in the first week with a goal loss of 160 lbs. I am currently in the process of reading DANDR, but looking for some expert opinions. Thanks!

Re: Induction or OWL...
Even though I am not yet in OWL, from what I read, going into OWL is a smart move. I would say that being able to add more GOOD carbohydrates is more sustainable in the long run... and will help you stay on course and not give up!
Everyone knows how easy it is to give up. People still lose exceptional weight on OWL, especially since you are adding net carbs and different types of carbs slowly.

Re: Induction or OWL...
glad you are going to read those two chapters. As Dr Atkins says it is an individual decision as to whither to move to OWl or do extended induction when one is a superheavyweight.
if you chose to do extended be sure you use something like fitday.com so you can track your foods to see if you are becoming deficient in any vits or minerals based on your food choices. If you are then you will need to supplement or move to OWL rung one to get the missing ones. there are many that can slow down our metabolism should we become deficeint in them.by the book atkinseer
