  • I need to see a pic of a SALAD

Can someone show me a pic of a salad you eat? I need to see it to know how much greens there are in 2 cup. When I use a mesure cup It seems so small to me.

    Thanks

Perhaps go by weight. 1 cup = 8oz. Depending on how leafy/fluffy your greens are 1 cup might not be all that much. Weigh out 16oz of greens... that is 1 pound isn't it? A pound of greens is a lot!!!! Now I am going to have that thought in my head the rest of the day.

          NancyJo, check out this link:

I have used that list exclusively for measuring veggies since I started. I think it works way better than trying to use a cup!

That's a volume measurement, not a weight measurement.

A "cup" of lettuce isn't going to weigh 8 ounces.

And it will not fit into a cup measuring cup.

A little more than this (this is a Spring-type mix. Tomatoes add for some of the bulk, though). Veggies really don't look substantial because you're not supposed to squish them down, so there's always some air in there.

Use smaller plates I've found that if I use smaller plates or bowls, the portions look bigger and I don't feel like I'm being cheated.
