  • Only 4 ounces lost. RE-INDUCTION. Need advice.

Hi all. I lost 8 pounds on Induction about 8 weeks ago. But then a few occasions came along, (birthdays, trip to visit family) and I went off Atkins. When I got back last week I did Induction again. I'm a little disappointed I haven't lost anything this week (except for 4 ounces). Maybe someone can point out my errors?

I've been using Fitday. My typical diet:

Breakfast: is 2-3 Eggs and 1 0z Sausage/ or 4 slices Bacon/ (no nitrates added)
Lunch: Beef Burgers with Cheese/ or Chicken /with 1 cup Broccoli or Salad (been using Blue Cheese dressing)
Dinner: Beef Burgers with Cheese/ or 6 oz Chicken /or 6 oz Pork /with 1 cup Veggies or Salad (Blue Cheese Dressing)
    Snack: String Cheese
*Sometimes I 'bread' the chicken using Almond Flour and cook in EV Olive Oil

I drink 2 cups of Decaf Coffee in the morning with Stevia and Light Cream. Throughout the day I only drink about 6 glasses of water. Sometimes I have a cup of Decaf Green Tea.

Using Fitday it's been amounting to about 1800 Calories, 18 carbs, 68% Fat. Only thing different from the first time I did it is that I ate more last time because I was hungrier. I do feel like I went through induction flu again, because by day 3 I felt pretty terrible, I was tired and my muscles ached. Feeling better today so far. As far as activity goes, I have not done any formal exercise this week, was too tired.

Anyone see anything wrong here? Do I need to make some adjustments or just hang in there?

Check your packages, compare them to the fitday numbers...
String cheese: processed more than "brick" cheese, so it may have some extras.
Beef Burgers: Check ingredients list for "sucrose, dextrose, fructose" etc... Also compare the carb count per serving to that of fitday. Burgers have extras added too.

Blue Cheese Dressing... Is it full fat? Is it loaded with sodium? Check the carb count on the bottle. Just to be sure.

Are you using light cream because it's all there is? If you have the option, use heavy cream (38%) or table cream in a pinch (18?%).

add the exercise. all it has to be is moving your body more then you did before so walk a little more march in place while standing in the kitchen cooking. put on some music and dance, etc anything to be moving more. this will force your body to make the needed fat burning power plants in your cells quicker and help you rev up your fat burning.

almond flour is not allowed on atkins induction phase

You should also add more veggies in there

Maybe you have some hidden sugars in the sausage, bacon or dressing.

Also, drink more water...the minimum is 64 oz and that is the bare minimum, you should be drinking about half your body weight in plain pure water

You should be counting net carbs. That's total carbs minus dietary fiber.

And it can take some time for your body to "recover" from a cheat.

All good advice. Thanks. I will double check the labels for hidden sugar, dump the almond flour for now, and add more veggies and water. I hate drinking all that water, I was never a 'thirsty' person, lol. But I'll try harder!

Ok, I forced some more water down my throat today, LOL. And also let my husband drag me on a nice brisk walk. Will check in next week and let you know how the changes we discussed turn out.

Hey, its really tough to drink water, but eventually it becomes second nature. Try carrying a 25 oz bottle at all times... or keep one is the fridge as a way of measuring your water progress.

this is how i get my water in: I bought a pretty pink water bottle that has a straw attached to it and it hold 32 ounces of water. I take it everywhere with me. I like the straw because i tend to drink more of it. i go through about 3 to 4 of the 32oz water bottle a day and not even know it, you should try it.
