Re: Down 10 pounds in 5 days!!!
I don't really have any tips...
I thought I was still screwing up somehow, because I don't have an odd taste in my mouth, and my breath, is pretty much normal. But I'm pretty sure I'm in fat burning mode, finally.
I have been cutting down on carbs since april 10th. But I wasn't loosing any weight. I got serious and did a lot of reading, and on the 16th, I tried to start induction, but every day, I realized something I was doing wrong, and on the 19th, I still hadn't lost any weight. But I finally got on the right track after that, and am now enjoying results.

What a great start to your Atkins journey, Mark
Keep up the good work
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Down 10 pounds in 5 days!!!
Great Job !! Isn't Atkins Great... I have struggled getting the hang of it also, finding things I did wrong everyday.... but I also believe I am now on the right track...
Congrats on not getting on the scale. I am a scale addict and get on at least or 4 times a day.. LOL.. it is moving but slowly.
Did you take your measurments? I did on day 2 but decided not to do it again until the end of week 4. I wonder what that will bring. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I know I am getting smaller because my clothes fit so much better.. No more Streaching out my shirts until the seams want to break.....
Keep up the good work.5'8" 38 years old Atkins start date 4-8-2010

Re: Down 10 pounds in 5 days!!!
Thanks for all the support~
I can feel a difference in my shirts.
The shirt sizes are smaller here in the Philippines, and I was buying the largest, hard to find size available here... XXXL, and they were still uncomfortably tight. But now I feel a little more room in my clothes.
I stayed off the scale, because I didn't want more bad news, of no weight loss. But since I found that I lost so much, I checked it again this morning, and found that I lost another 2 pounds.
That's 2 pounds a day...
My wife is in school to be an RN, and has been telling me that my new diet, and rapid weight loss aren't healthy. But there's no way I'm stopping now. This is the first time I've had a diet show serious, fast results, and I'm loving it.
I feel good now, and even though I've cut my portions down substantially, I'm still not hungry all the time.

Re: Down 10 pounds in 5 days!!!
That is great, Mark
It is tricky if someone close to you does not understand that Atkins is not just induction.
However I am sure that as she sees you start to move through OWL and add more carbs and different food groups till you are nearly eating a 'normal' diet but just not eating overprocessed foods and sugars that she will realise that Atkins maintenance eating is just as healthy (if not more healthy) than any of that pesky 'food pyramid' stuff she will be learning about at classes!
And I am sure she will appreciate the trimmer more healthy YOU that will emerge once you are at maintenance levels of eating too!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Down 10 pounds in 5 days!!!
Congrats!
Remember, that you will have loved ones say things like this, but remind then that the "twinkie diet" and rapid weight gain is probably worse for you.
Eventually when your "numbers" come back she will come around
Im 5'6" and a 1/4
Weigh 263 since tue april 20th 2010
week 1- 257.6
week 2 - 258.8
Ultimate goal I can say 160ish but I dont even know if my body would allow that!
