  • can someone plez look @ my menu?

Hi, I'm still a little confused, so if someone could please look at menu to see if it's ok.

    B. 3 eggs= o carbs.
    1 tbl spoon salsa= 1 carb

    L. 1 salmon pattie with 3 pieces of bacon= 0 carbs
    1 cup raw lettuce w/ 3 sauted mushrooms= 1.6 carbs

    D. 1 beaf pattie w/ 3 pieces of bacon= o carbs
    1 cup raw lettuce= 1.6 carbs
    2oz sauted and mushrooms=2.9 carbs
    2oz sauted onions= 5.6 carbs
    1 sweet -n- low packet= 1 carb

My carb total for the day is 12.8

Is this to low?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It is a bit low. You need to count net carb and that would make it even lower I think, The solution would be to incorporate other veggies. Lettuce is as valuable as water. You need nutrition and fiber from other sources.

Another thing that is problematic is your lack of fat. I would add a bit of butter or oil or something
Are you drinking all your water?

Thanks, Liv. Yes, i'm drinking my water. Oh, I sauted my veggies in Olive Oil and I used olive oil to cook my salmon.

      Thanks,
      Jennifer

          Lizizzle,
On the egg carton's nutritional list it states 0 carbs (eggland's best) so I'm not sure!

A large egg is 0.39 net carbs.

The nutritional label (in the US) is the least reliable source there is.

Are you counting NET carbs, Jennifer?

I know I read somewhere that eggs still have a Net Carb count even though the carton lists none. Just like splenda... says none, but you still count a carb for it. I stay under my 20 allowance since I round all my carbs up.

yup, yup, yup. It gets frustrating when you see discrepancies in the carb count for veggies and stuff... I played with Fitday, but Im not really digging it. CalorieKing usually has good nutrition info there.

What's the source of information for CalorieKing's data?

I have no idea what Calorie King uses for a source, but thanks for that link you put up. Looks like a lot of info there!

If their information is based on nutritional labels, then it's not going to be 100% reliable. If there's a lot of user added data, then it's not going to be reliable. You can, of course, spot check them with a known accurate database, such as the USDA.

It uses the USDA database for most foods.

It also has some extra entries (for example, scrambled eggs with nonfat milk and no fat added) compared to the USDA database.

I was using Calorie King at one point and, for the foods I was eating, it was accurate.

Lizizzle, I'm not really into the fitday either. Thought it was just me, glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm going to look at calorieking.
