  • A Question for the English Members please

    Hello

I am reading as many blogs as possible on this forum, but goodness there are a lot of them.

Could someone from my side of the Water advise me if the cover of the Atkins diet 2002 is different from the American version.

The copy I have obtained has a orange front cover!

Just want to make sure I have the correct copy, also bought some sausages the other day and only after eating them did I read the label, guess what ,they contained carbs!!

Could anyone advise which supermarket chain or brand of sausage does not contain carbs please.

Must admit, I am finding it really hard getting my head around not eating low fat.

Thanks, I am sure I will be asking all you Atkins experts a few more questions, if you dont's mind.

The color of the cover doesn't matter ... what's the copyright?

Sausages in England very often have "rusk" in them, which isn't allowed on Induction, or until the grains rung of OWL.

      Hi Alice
Welcome to our international ADBB family

The copyright date on the version printed in UK is 2003, but it is the same basically as the US 2002 version that we follow here.

Except that someone in the editing team thought they were helping us Brits when they looked at the allowed list of foods for induction and saw that they should be measured in cups!

Unfortunately they 'translated' the cups measurements of the two vegetables lists into ounces/grams, not realising that a cup is a liquid measure of 8 US fluid ounces, not a weight measure of 8 weight ounces, so cannot just be converted like they have done.

So ignore the weights given for vegetables on both lists and stick to having up to 3 cups from the salad vegetable list or 2 from that list and one from the 'other vegetable' list but use the 'weights per cup measure' thread in the FAQ forum to work out what a cup of whichever vegetable you are choosing would weigh and use that weight.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
