I know we can have tofu on induction . . . and it is made with soy. Does this also mean that we are allowed to have soy flour? I have read the DANDR backwards and forwards - but I still have no clue.

Re: Soy Flour ?
Soy flour is made from grinding up soybeans. So, it's appropriately added during the Legume Rung of the OWL Carb Ladder.Originally posted by JESTEROOI know we can have tofu on induction . . . and it is made with soy. Tofu is made by grinding soybeans with water. The solids are strained away, resulting in soymilk. A protein coagulant is added to the soymilk to separate the soy protein from the carbs in the soymilk. That's why tofu is allowed during Induction----it's mainly soy protein, with little carbohydrate.

Ah . . . makes sense to me! Thank You . . .
Another question now . . . can we or can we not have soy sauce on induction - as I thought that was "legal" and I have a moderator telling me we cannot have soy sauce - ?

Soy sauce is a tricky thing. Many of them are wheat based. Some of them contain added sugars or that infamous "caramel coloring" and "natural flavorings".
Your best best is a Vietnamese fish sauce. It will provide the saltiness of soy sauce (and no it doesn't smell or taste fishy). In fact, in South East Asia, fish sauce is used in place of soy sauce.
Again, read the ingredients to everything you use/buy to save you grief later.
