  • Can you critique my first days menu please.....

    Hi, I am starting this WOE again, last time was a few years ago. Yesterday was my first day.

    Breakfast, I had 2 little sausage links, 3 bacon strips

    Snack 2 cheddar sticks and some 1/2 cucumber and a few pepper strips with ranch dressing

    Lunch Salad with cukes, peppers, 3 olives and some turkey in it, with oil and vingear

    Dinner

    Rib Eye Steak and Salad

    1 diet pepsi and lots of water

    How did I do? Thank you. :icondance

    I think ya did well except for the diet pepsi! LOL maybe im against the soda because I dont drink it, but I think anything with an artificial sweetner can slow down weight loss. I think your allowed 3 sweetners a day but I dont know what a diet pepsi counts as.

    Your menu looks good though a variety of yummies!!!

      Thank you. The 1 Diet Pepsi Caffeinne Free pepsi is a great move for me, I went from drinking umlimited CK2's to this one Diet Pepsi today. Thanks again. :yes

        Really truly try and do without the diet pepsi, at least during Induction. No aspartme during Induction or even for Atkins at all. It is a known staller and often causes cravings. And remember - soda doesn't count toward your water count anyway.

        I went from a 6-12 Diet Coke can a day habit to cold turkey clean during Induction and extended Induction and this broke my habit. Now all I drink is water and unsweet tea with Splenda.

        Otherwise, looks pretty good! Make sure you're mix your veggies up with non-salad types for extra nutrients.

        Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
        Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

        Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
        Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
        Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
        Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!

          You're following Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002, (DANDR for short), right?
          If so, it looks good, but without knowing how much the vegetables added up to we can't tell if you've exceeded your 3 cups per day.

          Also, plug your foods into Fitday

          The link will explain the fat/protein/carb ratio to you. It's really helpful to see where you are. :yes

            Hey, doing great! as everyone else said..try to ditch the soda...at least for the first two weeks. I don't think you'll regret it at all!

            One last thing...how about your water?? Try drinking as much as you can. The water is certainly my best friend and if you drink enough you probably won't even want the Diet Pepsi anymore.
