  • I have to pee.....again!

    Sorry about this topic, but I had forgotten how much I have to pee when I'm doing Atkins. For every ½ liter I drink, I have to go......and I'm on my 3rd. ½ liter now.....People at work are looking at me (oh, could that be because I'm not working, but writing this?)

    Do you guys pee that often too?

    When I first started I have a full bladder to empty every hour (24 hours) for three days.

    I didn't get much sleep! It's tapered off quite a lot, but I still have to urinate more than normal.

      I know from the last time I did Atkins, that I shouldn't drink after 8pm, or I won't get any sleep.
      Other than that...yep! Every Hour!

        Yeah I didn't drink anything after 8pm, I think it was just my size, I must have been carrying a lot of water.

        Yeah it was literally every hour, no exaggeration.

        But biy did I feel lighter after those three days, A lot of water lost!

        We are 80% water after all!

          I pee a LOT too... at least once an hour if not more... and even though I go just before I exercise I always have to stop once or twice to go again... I wonder if this will slow down once my body adjust to the new diet and all the h20???

          Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
          Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

          so:
          Restart Progress:
          12/28/09 ~ 235.1
          01/04/10 ~ 229.0
          01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
          (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
          01/18/10 ~ 227.4
          01/5/10 ~ 226.8
          02/01/10 ~ 222.6

            When I drink all of my required water, yes, I spend most of the day trekking back and forth to the ladies'. It gets a little frustrating but I have to remind myself that I am flushing fat and ketones and toxins from my body, so peeing is a very very very good thing!

              Don't forget the exercise you get from walking back and forth to the bathroom all the time!!!!

              Adreliluc....you will pee less often as your bladder adjusts to the big amounts of water. The bladder is just a muscle, and it will eventually relax a little.

              My friend was doing Atkins and was trying to get pregnant. She went to a scan so the doctor could see if anything was wrong with her, and his first words when scanning her were "OMG what a HUGE bladder"......My friend and I just started laughing.

                      Just every hour? many I was going about every 30 min when i started

                      I can remember our b-ball trainer telling us if we didn't need to pee 20 min after drinking 16 ounces of water we were dehydrated and should drink 8 more until we did. and i thought that was tough LOL

                        UGH....need to drink more....I'm gonna sound like a waterfall when I walk!!!!
                        But anyway, it's almost 10pm, better stop drinking for today....

                          I find the closer to TOM I get, the more often I have to go...

                          Restarted 6/1/05 for the FINAL TIME @ 431 lbs Lost 80 Atkins
                          Came back 10/1 after losing 109 additional on Weight Watchers
                          Weight on 9/30/07 239.8! Lowest EVER!
                          If we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat?
