I am on day 18, I bought the strips, from what it says I am moderate purple, one day I am 4 lbs lighter, the next day right back up. Since I have been on this, I feel like sh*t, I don't feel any energy at all. In fact, I have been sleeping more and I still am tired therefore I have no energy to even go for a walk. Now I am going away on vacation on saturday and b/c I am so disappointed with the results I have not achieved I am thinking of going off Atkins.

I don't know... is it possible you are carrying an infection of some sort that could be causing fatigue, (you may want to check the possiblity your symptoms are not from doing the Atkins, but from something else; if you quit you may find yourself feeling WORSE than s**t!). Could you be pregnant?~Susan

Re: I am very disappointed
There's been posts before about the typical range of weight losses during the 1st 2 weeks a a percentage of the total you need to lose. looks like you already lost 1/6, which is pretty good I think, and perhaps your goal is set a little low for 5'7", and you really have less you really need to lose. Also, starting up the exercise can be tough at first, especially if you're out of shape. But using those weak muscles should cause them to toughen up and soon provide you with more energy and more fat-burning. You menu looks tasty. If you haven't already, you might wish to check potential menus at www.fitday.com to see how they add up fat/protein/carb-wise along with other nutrition info.
Hang in there!

Re: I am very disappointed
You could have Yest Problems I had this as well I was waiting and waiting for the energy to come and it didn't I was Baked. I did start to exercise and that did help your body could just have such a high yeast build up that it's gunna take a bit longer to get to where you want to be. I also didn't lose a lot of weight in the beginning in 2 months I lost only 12 pounds but it was 12 pounds left I was discouraged but, I went on KISS I am sure there is an explanation of this in the Yeast forum.
Don't lose hope and give up you are cleaning out your body some people are more toxic then others and having had 3 kids being on antibiotics ETC put me way up there with the yeast Problems. I no longer have them I do have ups and downs in energy due to Medical Problems I have but, I feel better then I have in a long time.
If you need someone to talk to please PM me my door is always open.
OH and are you drinking LOTS of WATER????

Re: I am very disappointed
I'm guessing this is the main culprit. Caffeine is known for a couple of things. First is that it boosts insulin production. Insulin is used to turn glucose into energy and turn excess glucose into fat. For people who are insulin resistant or diabetic, the ability of insulin to use glucose to energy is hampered. However, the ability of insulin to turn glucose into fat doesn't diminish.Originally posted by CgirlNYbreakfast-

Whether you're insulin resistant or not, the usual result of boosted insulin production is low blood glucose, a.k.a sugar crash. That explains the lack of energy.
Caffeine is also a vasoconstrictor, in other words it temporarily shrinks blood vessels. Most headaches are accopanied by dilated blood vessels. Caffeine constricts these blood vessels to relieve pain. This is why some analgesics contain caffeine.
The problem with vasoconstrictors is that the effect is temporary. Once the effect wears off, the blood vessels dilate more easily thereby promoting the recurrence of symptoms. This is known as the "rebound effect" which results in a dependence on vasoconstrictors...
...Hence your headaches ad the need for caffeine to keep it at bay.
Other things to consider:
It's possible you have a high degree of metabolic resistance. According to DANDR, a woman with average metabolic resistance expecting to lose 20 to 50lbs. should expect lose 6lbs after induction. You seem to be par for the course.
You might want to check other measurements like dress size, waistline, etc. People failing to shed pounds find that they've shed inches instead.
As for exercise, it's non-negotiable. You have to teach your body to use a new energy source (fat) instead of sugar from carbs. While others managed to re-educate their bodies in a couple of weeks, it personally took me three months before I returned o peak performance during my martial arts workouts.Robbie T., 240/180/160. 41yr Male, Height 5'9"

Re: I am very disappointed
I think someone else has asked this already but how much water are you drinking. I think water may be a key ingredient to energy or lack of. Your water quota should be 64 oz. plus another 8 oz for every 25 lbs overweight. A simpler version would be to halve your body weight and drink that many ounces. I see your weight is the same as mine so your water quota should be 83 oz.
Hope this helps!

You might want to check out how much sodium you are eating with your sausages, cheeseburgers and chicken salad (if it is something you do not make yourself).Originally posted by CgirlNYthats the thing- I have no energy for exercize.

Also, it looks like you are way over your cheese limit.~Megs~
