  • Kinda disappointed...

Well, after my great first week of Induction (7 pounds lost), I unfortunately have not been enjoying similar results. I have now been on induction for 3 weeks, and only 10 pounds lost. I have faithfully stuck to the eating rules, got in exercise 3x this past week, and am drinking my water. I know that weight loss is not linear, so at this point I am just going to stick with the program and hope that my weight loss picks up. I was pretty disappointed this morning to step on the scale and see that I'd only lost 2 pounds this last week despite all my hard work. But, 2 pounds lost is better than a sharp stick in the eye...or gaining 2 pounds, for that matter!

    Re: Kinda disappointed...

you need to look at the big picture you have lost nearly 28% of the toital weight you needed to lose in just 3 weeks that would for me be over 41 pounds! woo hoo on burning off that much of you.

There are very big biochemical changes going on in your body shedding fat mass adding lean body mass in fluids and proteins. the scale only knows about the total change in mass as effected by gravity which is why we tell folk to make friends with their tape measures so they can see those large pounds of fat being burned off during this time.

Usually we lose around 10% of the total weight we need to lose, during induction... so I'd say you're doing splendidly! Remember that the first week's loss is for a large part water weight, so it's normal to slow down after that.

As the others have said - you have achieved a great loss

As you now have about 20 pounds to lose to reach goal you do not need to stay on induction much longer - especially when you think that Dr Atkins told us to lose our last 5-10 pounds in the THIRD stage of Atkins!!

Many people here found that staying on induction for a longer than 2 weeks didnt speed up any losses and in fact their weightloss increased once they moved to OWL and started adding carbs!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
