  • Day 19: No Weight Loss or Gain

I decided to go on Extended Induction and I haven't moved at all since about 12-15 days ago. I had 3-4 days in a row where I ate around or over 2,000 calories (I've heard this is irrelevant during induction). I tested myself with the Ketostix and I still have color change. I figured I should maintain the 65/35 ratio but at around 1,000 calories to see if it'll spur some movement. I'm mid 20s, 5'4", 149 lbs. without any food in my tummy....

    Any thoughts?

Are you working out? Drinking your water? Drinking Coffee (that usually stalls me)

How much weight are you hoping to lose in total and how much have you lost so far?

I would guess from your numbers that you are within 20 pounds or so of your goal weight now, so really there is no need to stay on induction any longer.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Yea, I've started exercising a minimum of 30 minutes, walking or doing elliptical workouts. I drink a minimum of 64 oz, sometimes more. Hate coffee so no go on that. I am within 20 lbs of my target weight, but I'm a little disheartened that through 19 days, I've only lost MAYBE 2 pounds tops. If I go on OWL, that only involves increasing carbs weekly to find the CCCL right? Why would Induction stall out my weight loss?

I do know that the closer you are to goal weight, the slower it comes off. I think it sounds like you are doing wonderful! I bet you wake up in a day or 2 having dropped a few more pounds. Thruout my weightloss I've lost pounds, then nothing for days...BUT during those days, I lost inches! Maybe your body is losing inches right now.

          Hang in there!

For the third or fourth straight day, I'm showing 'large' (magenta) amounts of ketones spilling out. Should I start worrying about this? I know people said color change is what we're striving for, but I was only register small amounts of ketones before.

                  Hey ladies,

Yup, I've been eating my 3 cups of veggies everyday. I've had mushrooms, spinach, and a Costco vegetable blend.

If your ketostix are very dark in colour that could mean you're dehydrated. Are you drinking your water? Try increasing the amount.
Also... it seems to me that to try to take in only 1000 cals would not be wise. If you eat too little you'll go into starvation mode and that'll stall your weight loss for sure.
If exercise is a new addition to your daily routine, you could be making muscle which weighs heavier than fat.

I'd agree with Elizellen... why not think about moving to OWL. Lots of people find their weight loss picks up again on moving to OWL, particularly on rung 1, which is more veggies.
Above all... don't give up... you'll probably start shedding lbs again very soon.

                      Thanks sally

I've been drinking 80 oz. on average, probably more. I'll weigh myself early tomorrow and see if I've made any progress.
