Are you measuring yourself. It is so important to measure also are you close to or at That Time of the Month. If you are fluctuations are normal. I go up anywhere from 4-8 lbs during the 10 days before and during my period. Usually I lose shortly after it is done. I wouldn't fret if you are doing everything right It's water weight. There is a bigger picture then the scale and the scale is NOT your friend. If I went by the scale I would have been eating chocolate and pizza by now for sure. I didn't lose for 7 weeks but in those weeks I lose dramatic inches 20 to be exact and I also put on a lot of lean body mass. Do yourself a favour and quit weighing yourself for a while. Get the tape measure out go to www.mybodycomp.com and sign up and plug your measurements in. In 2 weeks go back and plug them in again I will almost count on that you will have lost inches. Stop lookin at the scale it's evil, it doesn't show how much of that weight gain is water or fat or muscle for that matter just weight.

Is it close to your TOM? That will definitly cause a few pound to creep back temporarily. Or have you started exercising or a new type of exercise, that could be causing it. Drinking all your water? If you slack on the water your body starts thinking it needs to hold on to some. Too much salt lately? Possibly pregnant? There's lots of reasons. Maybe you could list a typical day's menu and exercise plan as well as how much water you've been drinking that might help us to figure out what's going on.

welll it is not my TOM i had that about two weeks or so ago...and i have been drinking all my water some days not so much but most of the time i drink a lot....i am def not pregnant...and here is my menu

i ususally eat eggs for breakfast with either sausage or bacon
then i have some burgers for lunch with some hot califlower, a pickle or two...i snake throughtout the day with some baked cheese crackers things...and some baked pepperoni....
for supper i ususally have a salad, and some grilled chicken with cheese over it and maybe something else a little later to snack on

It seems like enough to me!! I am usually never hungry

Maybe it's the cheese? I know a lot of people say they have to eat even less then the 2-3 ounces we're allowed to keep losing. Also you mentioned not watching your carbs regularly, maybe you've had a carb creep in the last few days or so that's finally showing up. And as iyamamaschke pointed it out, it's important to measure yourself as well as using the scale to watch for change. Do your clothes feel looser?

I'm so glad you mentioned TOM! It's the week before for me, which explains why I've held steady on my weight. Usually I gain 5 lbs this week, so I guess it's really great if I've held steady! After my TOM, I should have a nice whoosh of water weight. Right??

It's hard because I've gotten so used to seeing that scale move! I tried to take a dieuretic last night, but it only made me wake up with a headache. UGH!

I had a similar issue. Around weeks 3-5 in Induction, I didn't lose anything, but I did lose inches. Measure! Measure! Measure! This dry spell is normal, because it's around the time that your body is getting used to the lower carb/sugar levels. Just keep on keeping on and you will start losing again.

Don't worry too much about what your fiance is losing. Guys have it much easier and lose a lot quicker than us girls do. Men!!

Ignore the scale for a while! You WILL lose weight! :hug

Several things jump out when I look at your menu. First, someone mentioned the cheese ... along the same lines, the pepperoni being a processed food can add a lot of salt to our diets, thus bump up our weight. I wouldn't be overly concerned with this, but I do increase my water when I'm eating saltier processed foods like pickles, olives, cheese, pepperoni, ham, etc..

Have you ever tried to plug your menu into Fitday.com? When people describe menus on the board, it is common to leave out some of the fats they eat ... for example, olive oil in cooking or butter for flavoring veggies. Use Fitday.com for a day or two to see if you are reaching the optimal 65%/30%/5% distribution of calories for fat/protein/carbs (Duke University Study with Atkins Nutritional).

Best wishes and most importantly, don't panic ... and certainly don't compare a man's weight loss to a woman's. My husband and I started Atkins together. Despite the differences in what we have to lose, it seems to be much easier for him and his body is more forgiving of cars than mine is.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
