  • Going Crazy!! 3 weeks in induction and no results-help!!

    Hi Guys,

I have been in the induction phase for 3 weeks now and have not seen any weight loss or or inches lost. I am very frustrated. I feel that I am doing the diet right and have not cheated. Here is yesterday's food. I do normally eat one small meal at the end of the night(4oz chicken, 1/2 T mayo w a little mixed greens) but I have been sick and not eating as much.

Please can anyone help? Any advice is appreciated!!!!

I think you should be eating more green leafy vegetables. I couldn't tell what the ratios were on your percentages were. It should be 65 % fat, 5 % carbs and 30 % protein. Every day, you should have 2 cups green leafy veggies, and only 1 cup of other kinds of veggies.

Some days your carb count was 27 and 33. Should be 20.

I read somewhere that avocados can stall some people. You seem to have them on your menu quite often and maybe it's not good for you personally for induction?

Being new, that's all I can tell you. I may be wrong too. What about diet sodas?

I suppose it's possible that it's just too many calories for you daily as well.. ??

    Are you in ketosis?

Hmmm. Weird. You're in ketosis but no weight loss?

Where you say splenda, your fitday says sacharin. IS that because Fitday doesn't have splenda listed? I found that too. I punched it in myself as a custom food.

I don't know. I'm kind of puzzled here.

Sorry!!You are not the nutcase I am!! After writing a reply to you I deleted right after. You are quick!! I deleted bc I was perplexed and decided to check on my link. I thought I had linked my fitday to yesterday's meals bc I wasn't done putting in todays(I had only put in the food I would be eating and not the quanity so it was crazy!!). My computer is running very slow today and being sick is driving me crazy so sorry it took so long!!

I fixed everything and this is the correct link.

hey sweety, don't worry...this can all be fixed!!!

good news: your meat portions look to be a good size...

bad news: i've noticed you are eating a lot of cheeses and "other veggies" and not enough fats!

your menu for the day (from your list) can look like this instead:

            chicken breast
            ground beef
            bacon
            eggs
            2 cups leafy greens
            1 cup "other veggies
            3-4 oz cheese
cream cheese (this is a known staller, try not to eat everyday)
mayonnaise (make sure no hidden sugars)
            butter
            WATER WATER WATER

you can even use olive oil...olives (up to 20)... to increase the fats!

there are so many recipes you can use, go to: http://genaw.com/lowcarb/ just make sure there is an * beside meaning it's induction friendly!

honestly, read the book!!! if you can't, read the sticky's!!!! they will help you soo much!

i hope i've helped in some way....don't give up... you can do this!!!

              Thankyou

I thought I was eating to much fat but if it is from the cheese that is raising I will cut back. I did not know about the cream cheese being a staller. I have also been eating macarspone cheese the last couple of days as well. I am assuming that it probably will stall too. I do have the book but I have used the website to tailor my diet too(that is where I got the macarspone and cream cheese from). I think I will just have to cut out any cream cheese, splenda and cream. I really have been craving something sweet lately though!

I only used 1 packet of splenda a day at most but I am thinking that may be a problem. I am drinking at least 90 fl oz of water a day so I hope this works!!!

Would it be better to just eat 3oz of cheese instead of 4?

Re: Going Crazy!! 3 weeks in induction and no results-help!!

yea, try eating only 3 oz for a few days and see how you feel.... i'm not sure about the macarspone cheese, i've never tried it before. i usually have marble, cheddar, gouda....or parmesan. i just find that when i stall, i try to eliminate some things that i read have stalled others, and sure enough...

you are allowed to have up to 3 sweetners a day, so if you want to have a crystal light or, i know this sounds silly, but try eating some olives then drink water... it takes the craving away, i swear! when you add more fats, all those cravings go away eventually... i know it's hard, but just think it's not long before induction is over then you can start adding more things in owl...

maybe someone else can add to this?!!! good luck....and it's good you're asking questions...it means you will succeed!!!!

k...i'm typing with my eyes closed now...haha...good night*

Actually marscapone is not one of those allowed on induction as it is a 'fresh cheese' not an aged one, so would become 'legal' once you get to the 2nd rung of OWL and add more dairy products like fresh cheeses and yogurt, milk etc.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
