Hi everyone this my first time here, and I've been thinking about starting the atkins diet... Ive bought the book, and just reading it seems too good to be true.. Ive tried to lose weight.. I want to lose 20 pounds and tone up for the summer, last time I checked I was 143 and I want to be around 120-125.. So I just wanted to know how people have energy while on the atkins without carbs, don't you guys feel tired??? Oh and I was wondering whats the average weight loss in the first week...

    THANK YOU

Some people find a lack of energy initially but after a week or so have more than before.

BTW we dont have 'no carbs' but the carbs we do eat (up to 20) are mainly carbs from veggies on induction so as long as we also take the recommended supplements we shouldnt really have problems with energy on induction.

There is no such thing as an 'average' weightloss but you should expect to lose between 5%-10% of your hoped-for loss in the frst 14 days on inductin.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Welcome to the boards! :wave

I can honestly say that I have more energy now than ever before, and that is even after giving up coffee one and half weeks ago - something that I never thought I could ever live without. I am so happy that I found Atkins and this board. It has made a world of difference to me. Good luck with your journey!

        Hi Honey16

welcome to the board Honey16. You have come to the right place. This board is absolutely the most supportive group on the net. Everyone is very friendly. :joy I have been doing Atkins for over a month now and I have to say my energy levels are higher now because I'm eating good healthy nutritious food all the time and I never skip breakfast. I don't think it hurts that I cut out all the high carb junk. I also thought Atkins sounded too good to be true. Believe it, it is true. Your body will LOVE being fed.
