  • What are your top 3 benefits you have noticed?

    Hi, I am Jan and just starting extended induction. I have been a bit stuck but still feel sooooo motivated to do this. I have been reading many success stories and they are truly inspiring! I thought I would list the 3 greatest things I have noticed about this WOE so far and you could add yours if you would like to. I would love to hear them.

    1. No more Fatigue - I used to crawl out of bed in the morning and want a nap by 3 pm. Just before I started I would literally be falling asleep after work for 1/2 hour before I could make dinner - now I have energy energy energy!

    2. I am never hungry - I find it incredible that after meat and salad for lunch, I can make it to dinner without one pang of hunger

    3. Seeing photo journals on this site makes me see real pictures of people who were my weight and are now at my goal weight and I can see what I am going to look like very soon! It is so exciting and the people who have been successful and are looking wonderful keep me going!

    1. I am 1000 times less hungry than before.
    2. My pijamas fit better and I sleep better because of it.
    3. My asthma symptomes dramaticaly decreased.

      I'm more active!

        1. more energy, i just realized this one
        2. my knees dont hurt when i "run" up my stairs, i was holding on and pulling myself up just a week or so ago
        3. not hungry is a big one for me - i never knew it could be so good

          1. Noticeable changes: More energy, less lagging and sleeping, exercising more, toning up, much more active.
          2. A cool thing: New friends.
          3. Results: 2007 summer clothes are fitting YEEEE-HAAAAAAAW.

            1) I am off the high blood presure meds!
            2) I have to buy new clothes in a smaller size. Darn!
            3) Amazing energy and lots of exercise that makes me feel good.

              1. No physical cravings
              2. I'm not binge eating
              3. I'm fitting in some of my older clothes
              4. I can eat meat with my husband!!! (he's such a meat-a-vore!) Sounds wierd - but with most diets I had to really restrict red meats and a lot of his favorites - so Atkins helps our relationships. He doesn't think I'm "starving" myself.

                  Allergies and reflux gone!

                  I like myself more (but it is about doing the WOE and sticking with exercise more than the way I look).

                  I have inspired my husband and son to start making similar changes by my example.

                    1. No hunger. I used to watch the clock and think about my meals hours before they occurred. Food was on my mind 24/7 and now it's not.

                    2. I'm not cranky! I have the usual crankiness that goes along with being me, but I'm in no way as cranky as before.

                    3. No headaches. I suffered from migraines before Atkins and I haven't had one since starting. Woo Hoo!

                    4. My head is clear...I feel like I can think again.

                    5. No more afternoon naps, I actually have energy

                      lots of reasons as stated... for me

                      1) freedom of movement...I can bend and kneel and reach so muche easier after even 45 lbs gone

                      2) I can breath deeper. I love to sing and play guitar and when I would play and sing I would actually get tired because I wasn't able to breath the way you need to when you sing.

                      3) Personal Hygene is easier... ENOUGH SAID!

                          Well, the three benefits I've enjoyed with the combination of eating right and exercising are....

                          1. I sleep better...It's wonderful it is to be able to sleep!!!

                          2. my endurance is increasing

                          3. my stamina is increasing

                          4. I have more patience (my family can tolerate me again....for some reason, high carbs make me really untolerable (a kinder word)).

                          5. My weight is decreasing (slowy by surely)

                          6. I feel good for 3 weeks out of the month (I'm a woman, I get one week to feel off).

                          7. I can think more clearly...no foggy brain rott

                            1. Double Chin is almost gone!
                            2. No more moodiness!
                            3. My school pants fit!!
                            Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

                              Hmmm...
                              1) Not Hungry
                              2) About 30% more energy
                              3) Aches and Pains are reducing a bit
                              4) Ummm...how should I put this...a more active bedroom hows that
                              for motivation?
