It's sweetened with Splenda, if I recall, so one serving of that will count towards your 3 daily sweetener allotments. It also has some hydrogenated oils too.
I'm in the "peanuts are legumes" camp, so I don't think they are very appropriate for the extended Induction. Atkins for Life puts them in the "eat in moderation" category.
Also, compare the carb options peanut butter with natural peanut butter...the kind that you have to stir. You'll see the carb options is "lower" in carbs per serving which is the same size for each...one or two tablespoons (can't remember off hand). Anyway, I asked myself why would the carb options have fewer carbs in the same amount of peanut butter as the natural stuff? Answer? More fillers and more crap and added trans fats so you don't have to stir it. It's just not good for you. IMO, if you're going to have peanut butter, stick to the natural, it's just better for you and more what this plan is about...whole foods.

I don't eat the carb options because of the unhealthy trans fats in it. Sometimes I buy the natural, but I found I like it best to make my own. I get a jar of cocktail peanuts and add one packet of splenda per 16 oz of nuts and mix it up in the food processor. I find the fresh peanut butter tastes best.
I used to buy carb options p'butter but stopped because of the price, and the trans fats. I found an excellent Natural peanut butter at Walmart called 'Adams' It has no sugar but does have salt..and it tastes amazing! Has a great texture too. Not sure if it's available in the states but if it is I highly recommend it. Huge jar, at least twice the size of carb options, cost me about $5 cdn (3.50 us maybe?)
I use Smuckers natural peanut butter, it only contains peanuts & salt.
