  • Quit smoking and still Losing

I just thought I let everyone know my progress so far. This makes 2 weeks smoke free *YES!* . I was suprised because I thought my weight loss would stall or I even put on weight, but instead I have lost quite a bit. These past few, I have dropped right at 4 pounds.
It seems to actually be coming off faster. I think its cause I have been drinking more liquids instead and I am breathing better. There are days I still feel like I have been smoking desite I haven't.

I pray I can keep with it. I try 2 associate cigs with carbs. I read that a lot of tobacco companies are now putting sugar addditives like honey, juices, syrups to mask the smoke taste/smell, and hook teens. Who knows just how many carbs that pack of cigs had

Keep your fingers crossed I dont go back to it.

Do you have any tips for what to do when a nic-fit starts? Last time i quit i used flavor ice (the popcicles in a plastic sleeve) but i can't do that this time because of the sugar. The time before that when i quit i put on 16 lbs in the first month from eating constantly. I want to quit again but I don't know what to use for the hand to mouth habit that comes along with smoking.

I have been using water bottles, or cup of coffee....I basically smoked cause it gave me that 5 minute break outside away from everything. Now, I step outside with my drink and tell the kids they have to give mommy a moment. If I get the munches I munch on pork cracklings..

~My kids keep me going though.
My little girl gave me a compliment yesterday that my hair smelled good- and it was the end of the day! Usually by the end the day it would smell like smoke. You dont realize how much your clothes, hair, even car would hold the smoke smell.

          You can do it!

Great job to you for quitting smoking! I myself am 40 days smoke-free. I thought I could never do it, but here I am feeling better than I have in years (the weight coming off helps that too!). I know how hard it is so you should be proud that you're creating a healthier you by not only quitting smoking but quiting the carbs. Feeling the way I do is what keeps me from giving in to any cravings. I also do something different at break time.. like get me some more water, use the restroom or log on to ADBB to keep my mind from cigs.

            You're doing super!
