I have been on the Atkins diet now for about 17 days. I have not lost any weight but I am feeling and sleeping a lot better. I have more energy and feel good, my appetite has reduced and cravings having drastically reduced also.
I am concerned because the pounds do not seem to be dropping off. I want to carry on and hopefully the pounds will but I guess I need some encouragement here and an incentive.
I am 5.9 and about 176lbs, I need to lose 22-25lbs to fall within a healthy BMI.
My breakfasts consists of 4 egg whites+green peppers+1 or 2 strips of bacon and a cup of tea or coffee, usually decaf.
Brunch could be cheese or broccoli, I have cut out carrots for more than a week now.
Lunch consists of salmon+shrimps+zucchinisauteed in butter and a pinch of soy sauce plus a small bare bowl of leafy veggies.
or Lamb_bean sprout in butter and soy sauce+ leafy veggies.
Dinner consists of either of the above maybe cooked with a different set of vegetables or chicken.
Tea and coffee with cream and splenda are usually about 2 - 3 cups spread throughout the day plus about 4 litres of water.
Am I on the right path?

so do make sure you are measuring as well - or look out a very tight outfit to try on from time to time to check if you are shrinking even if the metal monster is not co-operating. The 'Trousers of Truth' will tell you if your legs are slimming down.
