  • No success...ready to quit Atkins

Guys I have been by the book in my diet. I exercise by following P90X which is very intense. I have simply reached a point that I can not shed these last few pounds. Not sure why? I really don't violate any rules...no aspartame, no sugar, just the foods on the list. My only hope is am I eating too many calories? Is this really a low cal diet that just doesn't claim it? I need some inspiration. I am going on 2 months with no movement with the skinfold calipers. I could care less about the scale. The calipers have stayed the same!!!

Have you changed your menu? Are you still eating a lot of chicken wings and butt steak. Can you let us know? Do you know how many calories you are eating. The last menu you posted did look to be somewhat protein heavy. Try FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal to find out.
How much are you trying to lose? What is your BMI right now?

P90x is very impressive. Good four you.

Re: No success...ready to quit Atkins

I have mild psoriasis so I have to stay away from red meat and pork now. Just learned this. Here are my basic foods:

      eggs
      ground turkey
      chicken wings
      green peppers
      broccoli
      romaine lettuce
      butter

I know its not much variety, but I am very happy with it. I don't require much variety.

I wonder if i am eating too many calories? I am hungry pretty much every 4 hours. I have been in ketosis for over a month. No loss? It must be the calories...

I don't have alot of fat to lose. I am a 8mm on the skinfold calipers when measured at my waist. I use the same spot and have had no change in weeks. I want to lose down to a 4mm or less.

How do you prepare the chicken wings?

Put all your food through FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and find out how many calories you are eating. It is not that hard.

4 mm does not mean that much to me. Sorry. Do you not have a scale?

Re: No success...ready to quit Atkins

The last few are always the hardest. Years ago when I lost all of my weight I could not seem to get the last pounds off. No matter what I tried. I was running 3 miles a day and also doing other many things. I have found in my case that the calipers I don't believe measured me right (I love what it said I was). I have a scale that you put in your info and weigh bare footed and it measures me that same as the one I have used that you place approx. 10 electrodes to.

I hope you can stick with it because you will go down. I see that you can't have red meat, but when I have stalled I do a 3 meals of steak for the day and that is all. It will usually do the trick. I know I have quit before when I have stalled. Then I am really sorry for it!!! I commend you for doing P90X it is a very hard workout.

are your measurements changing at all? Not the calipers I understand you are saying they aren't moving -- I'm taking about your waist, bust, arms, things, calfs measurements?

You are on induction and have 10 pounds left to loose...what method have you been using to get this close to your goal -- Atkins all the way?

If you are happy with chicken, I would switch to chicken breasts rather than wings or drumsticks for awhile. Those wings pack in a lot of calories without a lot of protein. It would save you a couple hundred calories a day by making the switch. Just something to try...

If you are still on induction after a couple of months it might be time to move to OWL
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
