  • not seeing any progress on scales!

Hi everyone, im on my 3rd week of induction.Ive really been trying hard, especially with the exercise.Ive been to the gym 4 times this week. And i am determined to loose the weight. But i then went on the scales and im just the same as i was when finished induction last monday.it making me really dishearted and unmotivated.what is the best thing? is it to just keep check of inch loss? or weight loss? as im not sure which ine the best, but im feeling very upset that my weight has not gone down after all my hard work.

If i loose inches and it shows definate signs that im losing on waist and stomache for example, does it then matter if the scales done move? :help

Well, alot of people experience a little plateau after induction. Just keep eating right and exercising, and the scale will move again.. But, by all means, you can measure to see if you are losing inches.. sometimes I would much rather lose inches than pounds anyway!!

    And don't forget your water!

Gilly my dear you should know by now that the scales are not your friend and that measuring is far more important. Inches lost mean fat lost whereas pounds loss can mean water, muscle, excrement or fat. Don't look at your scale sweety and stick to the plan! :hug

        Gilly,
I am with you right there. Today is my 15th day of induction. I have been drinking 96oz of water everyday, doing 30 minutes of exercise each day and sticking clean with induction. Since I am not a big fan of the scale I have been hesitant to get on it. Reading all posts and all the weight folks have lost, sorta scares me, "What if I dont lose like the others" So I cant really say if I have lost anything or not... the truth will be know tomarrow morning, thats my D-day,,,,BUT... I did check my measurements, and I found I added 1 inch to my waist and bust! What the heck is that all about??? Now I am really afraid to get on the scale for fear of being even more discouraged.

On a positive note,,, I am just holding my breath and telling myself to push on, dont let this set me back, but I HEAR YA!

You need to pull out that measuring tape, or try on some piece of clothing that was tight on you before. Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat, if you are working out, you should be gaining muscle, do you feel smaller?

Oh oh Gilly girl you can't hiiiide

Its gonna be alright though, just keep doing what cha doing and it will pay off, immediate results aren't always gonna be there. So, don't trip continue to keep it clean, and keep that body moving, also drinking lots of water and soon you'll get used to the numbers of the program (thats what I've been telling myself too). Keep the faith!!

thanks for your support everyone.Well i measured myself and there was very little difference maybe 0.3 of an inch. Not exactly good. the end of my third week ends on monday so i suppose it could be a bit better by then but i guess i just feel quite angry.

Yes i tried to stay cheat free but i do think i have been eating some more carbs than normal as i forget to count sometimes.but i do stick to the induction foods.

fingers crossed for the next few week. Ive only lost 6lbs and one inch of fat off waist and stomache.I really wanted to shed a lot more inches before june.I was hoping in 10 days (that will be my month) i could get to my 10lbs loss, but at this rate im not very hopefully.Any advice would be welcome

Hey girl, look you should really do http://www.fitday.com if you haven't yet. Its totally free!! A lot of people use it here, and it really, really helps to see what my Carb intake is daily, along with a journal and other little things.

Gilly if you're gonna do this then please don't half step girl. If I can do it so can you, I mean the weight loss can get stopped by eating more carbs than you're allowed honey! The 10lb. loss within ten days is definitely feesible, you have only 4lbs. to go for the total and if you exercise like you're doing, and keeping it totally clean with the food choices (you won't die if you don't eat those fonky carbs ) You WILL Lose!!

I wish you the very best of luck!! :hug

I gauge my loss on how my clothes fit now and how I feel. They are already looser and I am loving it! I have been working out on my elliptical for 30 minutes a day or walking in the evenings. The elliptical has made the huge difference for me. Just got it about a week ago. I was only walking before.

Don't get discouraged!! Take it one day at a time!

I don't count my carbs and only weigh myself every two weeks. By now I know what helps me lose and what makes me gain. I am a perfectionist to begin with. If I counted my carbs everyday I would surely give up out of frustration.

                    Good Luck!! :wave

Okay, I'm still a newbie myself but I try to stay off the scale. This is nearing the end of week 4 for me and I won't get on the scale until Sunday. I refuse. And IF for some reason I'm feeling bloating or it's TOM, I certainly avoid it.

I have been going by how my clothes fit right now.

And if you've really started exercising, you might be gaining some of that great lean muscle mass! So really, forget about that scale!

Hang in there Gilly,,, I weighed myself today (and I hate that scale) It showed 5 lbs lost after 16 days of induction.... I too feel a little discouraged, and I think it has to do with all the other posts I keep reading about everyone else's success. I have not cheated, drank my water and exercised 6 days a week. I think my roadblock is simply my age, being 54. But, I am going to try not to focus on the bad bit focus on the good, like how I feel and how I am doing good things for myself.
Do you feel thinner? Do you feel better mentally? If so, keep going, 6lbs is still 2 lbs a week, and I have read over and over that this is a good safe amount of weight to lose. It means it is really gone for good.

hey gilly. funny that I ran across your post. Just 15 minutes before I had posted a similar cry for help :sadblinky the people that responded to your post actually motivated me to keep going, stop looking at the scale, keep exercising and of course, drink lots of water. I guess we're always going to have those low points and need some motivation from the wonderful people in this group. I guess my mini goal is going to be to wait for that wonderful wooooosh I keep hearing about even if it takes months

                              Stick with it!

Stick with it girls! In week 3 I didn't lose a lb--254. Then half way through week 4 I started losing again. Now I am at 239--keep at it and it will pay off in the long run.
