      Re: Let's talk about maintenance

Its been 6 years for me, and I *still* think about every bite I eat. Not sure that's a bad thing because when I ate "mindlessly", I weighed 40+ pounds more.

In my world of maintenance, I have to be vigilant. I know myself all too well. The day I'm no longer focused on every bite is the day I begin to spiral back into my old habits. I *know* I will never be cured of carb addiction, thus I *know* I have to ponder every bite. Some may call it obsessive or phobic, but I call it discipline.

Actually, I to also still think about everything I eat as well, I don't eat mindlessly, what I meant by 'carb phobic' was not allowing myself to go over 20g's-30 of carbs or finding my cclm. I became so afraid of eating carbs i became obsessed with that number.... It became an unhealthy obsession for me I think.

It's not a matter of eating mindlessly for me, but realizing what I can and can't eat....and not obsessing over every bit i put in my mouth. For me the carbs became an obsession. I wasn't eating the balanced diet that I now can with 'good carbs' in them.
