  • Moving up a rung!!

I would just like to say that I was in rung one for a week, and lost 2lbs!!! I'm moving onto rung two (HELLO COTTAGE CHEESE MMMMMMMMMMM ) I've changed my evil scale ways and now only weigh myself once a week (Monday mornings). I'll keep you all posted as to my success. My mini goal is 170 (10lbs lost, 10lbs to go) and I just might hit it this week!

As far as size goes, I now fit in the tightest belt position I have, and it's not squeezing me! I am ecstatic!

good for you. remember different cottage cheeses have different ingredients so if one troubles your ketosis then go try another.

Also remember too, once you are 5 to 10 pounds from goal you move into the Pre-Maintenance Phase. In your particular case, you have 5 pounds to lose before you move into the 3rd and final weight loss phase of Atkins.

So yesterday wrapped up my Nuts & Seeds week, and today was the moment of truth. I gained one pound. *gasp* LOL I seriously don't know whether I should be worried or not about that?! Three of the days I ate ~12 macadamia nuts. Two days I ate ~24 almonds and the other two I had 2 tablespoons of smuckers natural peanut butter. I am pretty strict about the amount that I eat.

I have decided to move to the berries/melon rung. I am going to remove nuts/seeds from my diet for now. Maybe after this week I'll try to add them in again. My question is this: since I won't be getting the 5 carbs from nuts, should I have 10 carbs from berries/melon?

Just add 5 net carbs of the berries/melon to see what happens.

yep try them only 5 net carbs at a time. On the bright side you know it isn't TOM issues.

2big that sure did make me laugh! Don't think Ill ever have to worry about any TOM issues! Ok so today I indulged a bit then and had more canteloupe than I should have. No big deal. There are worse things. Ill scale back on carbs the rest of the day and then tomorrow thru sunday make sure to only have 5 net grams of fruit. Thanks for the replies all!

                    Re: Moving up a rung!!

remember you are looking for 2 things in this great food experiment part of Atkins your CCLL and your tolerance for craving controls from different foods on the laddar. If your weight goes up or stays the samwe you might have reached your CCLL and that is the carb total number your body can handle right now.

you can do either like you did drop that rung and try thr next one or cut back the net carbs by 5 and keep the rung.

BTW you aren't just adding more food are you? you are giving up a bit of your other non carb foods cauyse you are finding your hunger satisfied witrh less of them when you add the new stuff right?

Every weekday I eat breakfast at 8, lunch ~12:30, a snack at about 3, dinner ~5 or 6, and another snack ~8 or 9. My midday snack is the time I've been eating new foods. So the amount hadn't changed for dairy and nuts, since during the dairy week I had cottage cheese or cheese and peperoni for my snack, and for the nuts week I would have just the nuts. However, now that you mention it, once I completed the dairy week I went from having lunch with veggies to lunch with veggies with extra dairy. Plus I had the nuts for my snack. Perhaps a daily visit to fitday may be in order to make sure I'm not consuming excess calories.....hmmmm. "Food for thought!" (sorry, couldn't help myself)
