  • How to tell if chicken wings are breaded?

Obviously I asked; however, i still am not sure. She said no, but these were Very crispy. I didnt see any bread crumbs or anything, but am sec. guessing myself thinking they had some batter on them. What do breaded vs. nonbreaded look like? Anyone have a pic?

If they dredged the wings in flour, then fried them, the wings would be crispy. And you might not see a coating.

Next time, ask them if they coat their wings in flour or anything like that.

Asking if they are coated is the best way I can think of also. If it's anything thicker than just flour and egg, you should see it.

What restaurant were you at? Maybe you could check their website for more information on thier wings. Wings are awesome, I love to order them when I go out!

Wings can be crispy and uncoated.
Many restraunts, who serve mass quantities of wings, will "cook off" large batches of wings to just about completely cooked and then refridgerate them until time to serve. then the single order is put back in the fryer to crisp and and reheat the wings. Lots of places don't coat their wings for crispiness because that is a step they really don't have to take in order to get that crispy skin. If someone orders extra crispy, the wings just get a longer second cooking.
That is kinda the clue to getting restraunt style wings at home. Cook'em twice!!

Definitely always ask, but there is a good chance they are naked.

When in doubt, just don't eat it. Don't forego all the work you've done by guessing. Ask, and if they can't tell you eat something else.
