  • Legumes rung...MANY ?

    Okay, I think i am going to skip the berry rung for now (don't eat very many anywho except for strawberries and their not appealing to me right now). Im also going to skip the alcohol rung as I may only go out on occasion and drink (once every 3-4 months).... So that leaves to on the legumes rung.

    Today I made some stir fry. It had broc, snow peas, and cabbage. Being on the legumes rung what else can I have in my stir fry to get in my 5 extra carbs. What about water chestnusts (where are they on the ladder) and sugar snap peas. My stir fry sauce came in a bottle and had 4 gram of carbs per tbsp and had 3 g of sugar (sugar was second on the ingred. list )

    So I now need an alternative to that stir fry sauce. How can I get a stir fry sauce without using the one with sugar. Anyone have an easy recipe? I only used a teaspoon on what I ate. So it maybe had 3 carbs at the most. That wouldn't throw me out of ketosis would it? (just because it contained cane sugar). To be thrown out of ketosis one would have to eat more than their carb limit for their body right? It doesn't matter if they are good carbs or "bad" carbs right?

    sugar snap peas are induction according to Dr Atkins staff when I ask back in 2002

    water chestnuts are on the other veggie list from back in induction and rung 1 of OWL

    checkout our recipe section for a good stirfry legal sauce.

    As to the legumes pick one you like red beans, black beans, kidney beans, white beans soybeans whatevery you want. you can use those raw green soy bean pods now too but you got to try the new to you food according to the Atkins OWL rules and that is only 3 times the first week so don't go wild making a big pot of the stuff thinking ou will have it as left overs several days in a row.

    There are 2 issues we deal with in eating carbs one is exceeding our individual carb tolerance level and being out of ketosis and weight loss. The othewr is blood sugar instability ( symptoms are listed in chapter 12 of DANDR) which can cause cravings which can lead us to a high carb binge amoung other things.

      tofu I love the stuff in stir fry you can deep fry it or buy it deep friend so it has a great texture to it
