    Hello OWL folks ~

    I am joining you today! This week i'll start the veggie rung and i am very excited to finally be out of extended induction. I was originally waiting until September 1st to make the move to this rung, however, i just *feel* that now is the time, so here i am! Just wanted to say hello to you all!

      WOOHOO! it always makes me so happy when someone moves into OWL! Glad to see you here.

      So, how are you going to add more veggies this week? Any new recipes you are going to try? Any new veggies you're going to give a try?

        Hi Dragonfly and welcome to OWL! We're glad you're here. Looking at your stats you picked a good time to start moving up the rungs. So have fun and keep us posted on your progress!

          Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I am excited to be a part of the OWL group.

          ValidRouge ~ i am adding cherry tomatoes to my breakfasts and trying to eat more green beans. Before, on extended, i mostly just ate salads and veggies with those salads, now i am trying to consciously add veggies to every meal. To be honest, before i'd let that slide a lot, and would sometimes have NO veggies during a meal, and then have it all in one big salad at night or whatever. I know that isn't right... and now i am correcting that! Oh, i am also having peppers with chicken and stuff like that. Fajitas with no yummy tortilla...

            Welcome!

            Re-read the book (you just knew I would say that!) And read through the sticky threads at the top of the forum.

            You'll like OWL. As matagwuro wrote in a recent post, OWL is where you develop a custom low carb eating plan. You'll find out alot about your body and yourself, while you lose the weight (and you'll learn enough to keep it off!)

              Thanks, Megs! I appreciate it! I do have the book on my nightstand and i have been re-reading it since i started this WOE again, a little every night. But i WILL go back over the OWL section again and again until i get it... it still seems a little bit confusing to me. I think i am going to try to print off the list of veggies & their carb contents to put on the fridge. That will help me keep everything under control...

                just remember any veggie from both lists are fair game in OWl Rung 1. So if you want spaghetti squash tossed with a fresh tomato and basil sauce---go for it! Just pick on of those veggies to be your "OWL" veg and enjoy.

                    Great to have you moving onto Ongoing way of Life!!! There is a whole world of great legal eating outthere on this plan. Fresh vegies like your cherry tomatos have been calling my name for the last 2 weeks...my mom's fresh tomatos are ripe so I have that and 1/2 cup Michigan Brand cottage cheese. The carb count is the lowest in that brand. Or fresh green bean stirfried or a little squash, onion and green pepper roasted

                      Thanks, Becca! I'm really excited about this and i think it is helping... i am down another pound this week and now only 1.5 pounds from my first mini goal - 50 pounds lost! Hopefully that will happen this week!
