And the other thing I look for in dairy products like yogurt and cottage cheese is to be sure they have no thickeners or other ingredients (=stall my weight loss). The ingredients list on my yogurt says cultured Grade A milk, contains active yogurt cultures including L. Acidophilus. The ingredients list on my cottage cheese says cultured pasteurized Grade A Skim Milk, Milk, Cream, and Salt. Many brands of cottage cheese and yogurt use pectin or other starches to thicken them. You may or may not have trouble with those added thickeners.

The natural lactose sugars in Yoghurt dont affect blood sugar due to the fermentation process that the milk goes through to become yoghurt. I rememeber reading something about this online or in the DANDR. I love natural yoghurt with a little splenda - a few berries and some chopped macadamias or flaked almonds ..........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
