Very excellent information, Joy!! Thank you.

And Jen, this thread ROCKS! I love it.

That was really good information Joy! Thanks!
Making a pot of green beans right now!
So far so good today... did slim n 6... just finished breakfast:2 eggs with slice of cheese. Had a little chat with dd...
      Planning rest of day:
dinner will be: Green Salad with turkey and egg on top...
      dessert... MUP
Lunch will be hamburger with cheese wrapped in lettuce... yum!
(which takes up all my cheese allowance for the day)and also green beans to nibble on as a snack if I get hungry... Doesn't sound like much... this is gonna be a long day at work... Think I'll take tea to drink.
Gotta stop off and do some shopping on my way in... gotta run.

        Peas, pods... who knew??

        Today so far I've had:

        A piece of string cheese
        1 C cabbage
        1 C asparagus
        3/4 C stewed tomatoes
        1 C cucumber slices
        1/4 C sour cream

No protein available, so I just ate 2 TBS of natural peanut butter. Will find some meat and more veggies tonight...

            Ok..reporting on food intake

Breakfast- 1 cup of pumpkin, 1 oz of cream cheese, 1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice - stevia sweetener, 16 oz bottle of water

Lunch - 1/2 green pepper, 5 inch chunk of cucumber, 10 sugar snap pea's, 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 tbsp mayo.

I have a feeling I reported breakfast earlier, but what the heck.

Oh and I found canned 100% pumpkin at my local grocers today...YAY! So no more buying it at the expensive health food grocer!

            Later!

              My turn:

The reason I usually have brunch instead of breakfast and lunch is because I usually exercise in the morning and I don't like to eat before I exercise. Then after, I am so hot that I wait a little while. On days that I don't exercise in the morning, I usually do have a breakfast and lunch. Today I exercised in the late afternoon, so I had 3 meals.

              Breakfast - MUP with almonds

Lunch - 2 drumsticks and a little over a cup of raw red bell pepper strips

              Snack - sugar snap peas

Dinner - hamburger patty topped with provolone cheese/cup of mushrooms and a whole medium cucumber

              Fitday totals:
1305 calories (a little low again)
34 net carbs, 26 of those from veggies

My dinner changed slightly--I included some whole grain crackers and brie with my salad, and I'm having some pumpkin (I guess I should call it MUP) for dessert.

                            Here's the plan for today:

B--3/4c. pumpkin, 1 oz. cream cheese
                            S--protein bar or almonds
L--3c. mixed greens with 1/2 red bell pepper and 1 tbsp. dressing, 1 flatout wrap with pepperoni and 1 oz. mozzarella
D--small grilled chicken breast, 2 cups string beans, 2 cups broccoli with 1 oz. melted mozzarella

Of course, this may change, depending on how motivated we are to cook tonight. If we have a "lazy" night, I'll have an omelette, broccoli/cheese, canned green beans, and possibly celery with dip.

Yay, Don! I'm glad you're here. I like seeing what other people eat.

So, I was wondering if those of you who are all of the way up the rungs still worry about making sure that at least 2 of your cups of veggies come from the Salad list or not. I am so "anal" that I do still try to do that, although I am not always successful. I would say that 90% of the time, I am, though.

How about it? Do y'all make it a point to still have at least 2 cups of Salad Veggies rather than just pick from either list? Not making a judgment call here... just nosey.

I just eat whatever vegetables I want to have. Most of the time when I'm choosing veggies I'm doing it because of fiber count. Lots of the salad veggies don't have that much fiber. Yet, I do eat probably a large pepper every day or every other day, and have jicama every day, both of which are salad veggies.
