I have a lot of food allergies. Most are minor but I have a couple that force me to wear an epi pen at all times. The minor ones do build and if I keep exposing myself to those foods eventually they may become major reactors. That is how I found most of my allergies. The foods tasted funny, I just didn't like them or I craved them for years until bam... ER. One of the things I like about OWL is that it will allow me to test foods that I have been suspicious about since I never got around to doing the allergies testing diet. One concern though, if some foods cause me to have a minor reaction it may be obvious like mouth itching etc but it may be metabolic reactions instead. Knowing that I have a predisposition I would prefer to find my CCLL separate from going through the rungs.
Can I alternate them as in... instead of going to rung 2 after two weeks, add an addition 5 carbs veggies to my rung 1 veggies for two weeks to see how my loss is and then once that carb level seems fine go through the rung 2 dairy one at a time. I would do the same for the other rungs testing the addition 5 carbs with known okay foods and then adding new foods from that rung. Is this acceptable? Does anyone else have ideas for separating the testing of new foods from the search for CCLL so I will be better able to tell if newer allergies or intolerances pop up.

If you want, you can take even longer with a rung. It's recommended that you stay on each rung for at least 2 weeks, but you can stay a month (or longer) if you want to. In your case, that might be a good idea. Perhaps you only want to add ONLY 1 new food a week so you can REALLY see any side effects or possible allergies/sensitivities of consuming said food.
