  • How do I know if I am ready for the next rung?

    Hi! I am currently on OWL rung 1. Since I started on June 25th I have lost 9 lbs to date.

    I have been on OWL Rung 1 for a week.

    What does Atkin's law say about when to go from one rung to the next?

    Rung 2 is about nuts right?

    Minigoal 2: 215 lbs - Met 10/10/09
    Minigoal 3: 210 lbs
    Minigoal 4: 205 lbs
    Minigoal 5: 200 lbs
    Final goal: 135 lbs

    Rung two is dairy and you can check it out in the OWL threads. If you are continuing to lose well even after adding five carbs then you may be ready to move to Rung Two. I would suggest adding five carbs of additional veggies Without the dairy first to make sure you will still lose at30 grams a day. If so, then add the dairy to your 30 gr make up. If you add 5 gr and the dairy together and you stop losing you won't know if it is the carbs or the dairy causing it. Then spend as much time as you need to in order to introduce dairy foods one at a time so you can track their effects on your weight and cravings. Finding out how foods affect you is what OWL is all about so don't rush the process. Watch your portion sizes too. Good luck.
