  • OMG!!! The CrAvInG!

My son wanted Kraft Dinner for his supper last night, so I let him have some....It hasn't been made in our house since we started this Woe. It was one of my favorite foods, and a comfort food to boot. I thought I would be ok making this for him but the smell of it made me crazy for it. I've never experienced such a violent craving before. I managed not to eat any as there was other stuff around. I had to grab a couple tablespoons of cheeze whiz (only 4 carbs) to put the craving under control and then leave the kitchen. of course davin can't finish a whole pot of kraft dinner in one sitting so the rest is in the fridge. but thankfully i dislike cold macaroni so not much craving left when i open the fridge and there it is. we actually had to go out for dinner last night so i didn't have to be home while it smelled like cheese macaroni. it's not even so much the noodles, it's the cheese sauce that got me. does anyone know how many carbs are in the packet of cheese sauce by itself? in any case, now i understand what a crack addict feels when they need a fix!

I haven't a clue how many carbs are in the cheese packet. But the next time that hits you, make sure you have some real cheese around. Cheez Whiz is a fake cheese product, hence the 4 carbs (those carbs are from the starch fillers and stabilizers in it).

Yeah I know, we need to do our weekend grocery trip and restock. I'm going to have my DH cook the macaroni next time when i'm not home or something so I don't have to go through that again!

Just an FYI--little more expensive, but worth it to me...my DD loves mac & cheese, so do I, but since starting this WOE, I've only bought the microwave individual packets of Kraft so I dont have to worry about having extra's around or being tempted. I can make 1 packet for my DD's lunch, I know its a perfect amt for her to eat---it's quick and easy and I know I can make it thru 10 mins of microwaving and her eating it and it doesnt bother me. LOL, believe me, you don't want to eat behind her to eat up any leftovers...she's 2 and usually mixes her gr beans and fruit along with her mac & cheese by the time she's done!!! Hope it helps you!

Someone posted a yummy sounding recipe for a cheddar cheese sauce in the recipe forum...why not make that and eat it over steamed cauliflower or spaghetti squash?

Here's the thread, the recipe was posted by Ana.

Same thing happened to me with a toasted pop tart. Raspberry one. Drove me crazy..I swear the smell was in the house for days! I managed to resist, had some berries and cream instead.

It funny how certain things can trigger us. I can make my husband 5 sandwiches on white wonder bread every day ( used to love fresh white bread), I've baked and iced 3 birthday cakes from scratch, i make them banana or chocolate chip muffins every week, and none of it bothers me. Can resist liking my fingers/the bowl/beaters etc. But oooooohhhhh that pop tart!

I've refused to keep them in the house ever since :guns
